Spoilers for Life is Strange ahead.

Summary

  • Life is Strange: Double Exposure will carry over choices made in the first game.
  • Players will be able to choose from both original endings, with neither being made canon.
  • Decisions will be selected in-game, so you don't need your old save files.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Life is Strange: Double Exposure will not choose a canon ending for the first game. Instead, developer Deck Nine says that it will "respect" both choices, although it's unclear how they will be referenced in the story.

This was revealed during a gameplay showcase for the new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Life is Strange game, giving us a better idea of what we can expect from the sequel (thanks, ). Here, Game director Jon Stauder hints that we can input our choices from the first Life is Strange game as we play, sharing details of Max's past adventures with the new characters.

Both Life Is Strange Endings Can Be "Canon" In Double Exposure

"It was really important at Deck Nine that if we were to make another Max adventure that the game we'd have to respect both those endings," says Stauder. "There's no canon ending in our book to the first game.

"Double Exposure will respect both endings in Max's thoughts, her journal, her SMS, her interactions with other characters, what she opts to reveal about her past to her new friends, it's all reflective of that final choice."

This would be a pretty big moment in Max's life, regardless of what decision players went for at the end of the first Life is Strange game, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. However, with no Chloe on the scene, it looks like the pair don't stay together in the ending where Arcadia Bay is destroyed.

If you're completely lost right now, don't worry - Deck Nine also says that Life is Strange: Double Exposure can be your first Life is Strange game.

We do see in a gameplay clip that Max can reference Chloe as either a friend or an ex though, so Double Exposure doesn't write their potential relationship out of the story. It seems like this is how decisions will be carried over since the devs explain that we won't need the save files from the first game to see our choices reflected in Double Exposure.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is set to launch on October 29 of this year. It will be available on PS5, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Xbox Series X/S and PC from day one, with a Switch port coming at a later date.
