With only Gemini to light the way and far more enemies than friends on our current path, we'll need every ally we can find. Thankfully, this guide is here as one more friend for your adventure. Let's see about shedding a little light for the road ahead.
Path Of The Pilgrim: How To Open The First Shortcut
From the Archbishop's Altar Stargazer at St. Frangelico Cathedral, venture through the door under the portrait of the Archbishop to get started on this new pathᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ.
You can reach the Stargazer of the Path of the Pilgrim simply by following the main path. Thankfully, you'll only discover a few normal carcass enemies on the way.
There is an old stargazer on the left side of the path, bu൩t you cannot activate this one yet. The real stargazer is later on the right side of the path and across from a wooden building.
When you reach the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer, go down the hill to the right of the wooden shack.
This path will be filled with ambushes and enemy traps, so you'll want to keep your eye on every breakable box and upper ledge.
Your first ambush is just down the hill with a new type of enemy, a dog carcass, which will burst through the boxes near a normal carcass. A Hidden Moonstone can be found behind this location.
At the first potential split in the path, go right down an unlit path. Be careful to avoid the bear traps on the ground and the carcass that will jump onto the road in front of you as you near a chest at the end.
The chest contains the Acidic Crystal Spear, a potent Advance-based weapon (A).
Turn around and follow the path straight ahead to find a Dim Ergo Fragment near a burning barrel. A carcass will jump down from the cliffside to your right.
Across the path behind you, there is a Saw Blade on the ground beneath a tree. A carcass will drop from this tree as you stand under it.
Down the hill, you should notice a large enemy crawling toward you. This is a bear carcass, and it prefers to attack using large swipes and charges.
With its far reach, you'll want to stay close and avoid backpedaling with your dodges.
Use Fire attacks to get t♕he bet🦩ter of it and help tackle its massive health pool.
For its defeat, you'll receive:
- Fable Catalyst
- Carcass Body Fluid Bottle
- Star Fragment
Go down the hill to the right of the bridge for now. You'll find a Fire Canister guarded by a dog carcass here.
Watch out for the bear traps on the ground under the bridge and pick up the Chain on the other side beside a carcass.
Going up the hill, there are two more bear traps, a Vivid Ergo Fragment, and another dog carcass.
Across the land bridge, go down the hill while following the lit barrels until you see a lake on the right side (your lantern will start glowing).
A Dimensional Butterfly can be found in this lake, but halfway through its health, two carcasses will ambush you, and the butterfly will disappear.
After the carcasses are defeated, you can rediscover the Dimensional Butterfly on the right side of the lake near the Legion Magazine, sitting on the ground. Defeat the butterfly to receive a Dark moon Moonstone of the Covenant.
You can find a Hidden Moonstone on the left side of the lake. Once again, a carcass will jump from the ledge beside it.
After gathering all materials at the lake, go down the hill to the Tomb Slums Entrance.
There are several enemies at the front gate. Most of them are standard carcasses, but one is far stronger than the others.
We recommend stepping in only to backpedal and bait the enemies out of town into the open field for the best♌ visiꦺbility and movement.
Flamberge with the wave upgrade is best for this scenario. It will allow you to kill al💎l carcasses at once except the strongesജt one while laying on the Burning effect.
After the entrance enemies are all defeated, you can grab two items in the area:
- A Dim Ergo Fragment in the small outer room on the left.
- An Attribute Resistance Ampoule in a room to the far right side.
Go through the small fort to the left to face a series of wooden roofs. A carcass will be guarding the bridge linking t🌳hese roofs.
On the second roof, a carcass will jump down on the left side. The "Wanted: Black Rabbit Brotherhood" poster can be found on a beam on the right side.
Go across a bridge on the right to find a carcass holding its head beside a flaming barrel. As you near it, a second carcass will climb over the edge of the bridge ahead.
Cross the next bridge to eventually face two carcasses and find a hole to drop into. There are no ene🌄mies d꧒own there, so feel free to fall.
A Fire Abrasive can be found in this room, but more importantly, there is a door you can open on the far wall to the bottom of this area. It leads to an elevator to the left.
Take the elevator up. This will lead to the shack outside the Path of the Pilgrim, where you can find the "Scribbles of a Slum Resident" and a door to the Stargazer.

How To Descend The Tower To The Malum District
Take the elevator to the ground floor, follow the path outside under the bridge, and go to a boarded-up wooden door. As you near, a large miniboss will burst through.
This miniboss (we'll call it the "sawblade carcass") is highly aggressive and agile for its size. It has immense reach and the ability to jump over large distances to strike with its large weapon.
Like many carcasses, you'll want to prioritize using fire damage here. But the main tip for this fight is to use the hill ledge to your advantage.
When you need space to heal or change items on your belt, you can use the ledge to confuse the miniboss by either climbing onto it while it's below or dropping off the ledge as the miniboss climbs.
Fable arts are also highly rec𒅌om💧mended for use here. The miniboss, despite his side, is very susceptible to being staggered.
When this miniboss is defeated, you'll be given the Slum Shack Key. It opens the door to the building across the arena from the broken gate.
Inside is one carcass and a chest containing the Belford Superior Corrosion Resistance Converter.
Going through the broken gate, follow the lamps. There are three enemies that are hiding both within the grass and above on the cliffside in thi🌳s are💞a.
After defeating them, you'll discover the Hobbler's Bridge. Carcasses are hiding on top of the bridge towers and ♋on the ledges of the bridge it💎self.
Walk across the bridge slowly to defeat them all and then come to a stop when you find a wagon and a broken section of the bridge on the right. Drop onto the ledge below.
Take the Vivid Ergo Fragment and the Saw Blade under the bridge and across a smaller, wooden bridge beneath it. Climb the ladder back up to return to the edge of the bridge.
Ahead is a wall with a beast trapped behind a sturdy iron gate. When y𝔉ou get🗹 close, the gate will open to free the beast.
Don't let this carcass beast scare you too much. Thankfully, it almost always uses the same attack.
Keep your distance from this enemy, and when it charges at you, dodge to the left or right as it passes.
If it helps, imagine this fight like the exchange between a bull and a bull tamer in an arena. When the bull carcass charges past you, attack it a few times and immediately back off again. After repeating this a few times, you'll put an end to this creature.
Through the gate, enter the campsite in the area ahead. On the right side, there is a "Sweeper Branch Office Newspaper Report."
Head up the stairs as you overhear a Black Rabbit making an announcement. You'll find a tower at the top and a Legion Magazine behind a few boxes on the right side 🌺of ♛the entrance.
Inside the tower, you'll have to face a tight platforming section. Your goal is to reach the bottom by walking o𒉰ut onto thin beams and fallin𝓡g onto the appropriate ledge below.
Before you begin, go up the ladder on the left and across a wooden beam for a Special Resistance Ampoཧule.
For this section, go slowly and do not panic as you fall. Do not attempt to steer P while falling.
There is a Dim Ergo Fragment on one of the ledges on the way down, but otherwise, focus solely on dropping onto beams. There is no way to softlock yourself here, so trust in your falling and take your time.
At the bottom, the Malum Di𓂃strict Stargazer is just ahead up the stairs.
