12 characters from D&D have been turned into Minifigures, a Gith Warlock and a Mind Flayer among them. The only catch is you can't buy all 12 as a set, and it might take you a while to find them all. Not only are the Minifigures being sold individually, but they're in Lego mystery boxes. That means there's no way of knowing which character will be in the box until it arrives, and that also means if you're adamant about getting all 12, you'll almost certainly end up with a few duplicates.

Each D&D mystery box costs $4.99 but judging by the images, most if not all of the characters come with accessories. If you like your odds, you can pre-order 12 mystery boxes now for a total of $60 and when they arrive on or shortly after September 1, if lady luck is on your side then you'll end up with one of each figure. My math is a little rusty, but if my calculations are correct, the odds of getting all 12 figures in your first 12 boxes are roughly one in 18,600, so not great.

Besides, if you're a D&D fan, that presumably means you're friends with other D&D fans who will be buying these Minifigures and if you have duplicates, you'll be able to trade. Also, I don't know about you, but having doubles of these characters certainly wouldn't be the end of the world.
