Yatsukahagi is the penultimate boss of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, he may also just be the hardest boss. If not the hardest, then definitely the most obnoxious. You see, unlike every other boss in the game, a big part of the issue is cornering this Seethe and stopping ❀it from running away - which is easier said than done.

If you are trying to track down a missing Mazo Talisman in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of t⭕he Goddess, then thiꦐs is the guide for you.

This guide will take you through everything you'll need to do in order to slow the Yatsukahagi down an🐻d permanently. I'll tell you the best loadout to use, tricks for making the singing Seethe stumble, and🎃 the best possible troop types to bring into battle with you. Worry not, well have Yatsukahagi whistling another tune in no time.

Pre-Battle Preparation

Kuntisu Gami Path of the Goddess. Soh using the basin in the Yatsukahagi fight.

Damage, Damage, DAMAGE! We are going to be looking to pile the damage on from the opening bell. So, for Mazo Talismans, we'll want to have Nyorai, Sacred Tamagushi, and Soultaker at the minimum. Additionally, having Skanda's Agility equipped will make your life slightly easier when tracking the Yatsukahagi down, and you can have the Bodhisattva on as well to help inch S𒁏oh's attack power forward even more.

The Grief and Pleasure Mazo Talisman can also be helpful, as it gives Soh a very nice attack boost, but it will make your life a little harder, as your villagers will greatly struggle to fend off the Dai Gaki.

Additionally, we absolutely need to have the Worship and Punishing Strike abilities unlocked for Soh. You also absolutely need to have the Assemble command unlocked. You will also want to come into this battle with the Byakko's Claws, Toda's Snare, and Suzaku's Flame Tsuba Guards equipped.

Villager Strategies

Kunitsu Gami Path of the Goddess. Troop formating in the Yatsukahagi boss battle.

When it comes to the villager roles, we're going to keep things pretty simple. We want to keep as many crystals on hand as possible so that Soh can do more damage, so we will want to make most of the villagers be Woodcutters, but only if you have leveled them up quite a bit. Ideally, all the way to their max level. Otherwise, you'll need to throw in some Spearmen as well.

Have one Sumo Wrestler to help draw the attention of the Dai Gakis (those are the massive Seethe you will have encountered dozens of times at this point in the game), one Ascetic to help lock them down, one Shaman to help heal them, and make everyone else a Woodcutter.(unleܫss that job hasn't been leveled up, at which point you should probably spend more crystals on better fighting units, which will cause the battle to ta💎ke a little longer).

Yatsukahagi's Attacks

Kunitsu Gami Path of the Goddess. Yatsukahagi using their slam attack.

Surprisingly, Yatsukahagi only really has two attacks. Their primary attack is their leaping attack. When you start slashing them with your sword, they will launch themselves into the sky and come down on you for massive damage. They only do this when you are either attacking them or one of the gates they have summoned. Their landꦕiꩲng spot will be marked by a glowing circle on the ground, just dodge when they are about to come down on you.

Additionally, once you hit the halfway point of the battle, Yatsukahagi will also start summoning fingers to teleport in and stab at you. However, you will be moving so much a💞s you fight Yatsukahagi that it is likely they will all miss you.

The only thing they do other than that is a giant dive bomb attack. But that is a one-time thing. Your primary course of action is to make sure Soh and the villagers aren't in the central path when they are doing this. Use the Assemble command to help your troops avoid it.

Defeating Yatsukahagi

Okay, so, before this fight even begins, enter into the boss arena, switch to your Toda's Snare Tsuba Guard, and go put down mines in the alleyways to the left and the right of the central road. We are very intentionally not triggering the boss fight to begin yet! You can have three of these down at a time.

Once you have laid those traps, switch to the Byakko's Claws Tsuba Guard. Now, head to the section of the road with the Chozusha Basin, and trigger the boss. Once you do, immediately run to the Chozusha Basin and get the blessing. Now, run to Yatsukahagi and perform the Byakko's Claws special attack. This should be the very first attack you hit in this battle to get the damage boost from your Soultaker Mazo Talisman. Once you land the Byakko's Claws attack, switch to Suzaku's Flame and land that attack as well. Once that lands, land the Punishing Strike (Yatsu💫kahagi should still be stunned at this point🦄).

That sequence alone should have Yatsukahagi down below half-health. Now, you will want to use the Assemble command to move all your villagers into an alley (just make sure they aren't on the main road). Yatsukahagi is going to head for the Torii gate, they'll take to the air, and then they will fly down the center path and deal massive damage to anyone they hit. Once they've done 🌱this, have your villagers huddle around Yoshiro 🦩again.

Yatsukahagi always uses this flying attack to dive bomb the center path once they are🧔 below half-health.

Now, the last thing to do is to chase Yatsukahagi down and finish them off. If they have a summoning gate up, run over to it and attack it. Once you hear Yatsukahagi scream out in pain, run over and attack them (you can find them on the map). Do this anytime they create a summoning gate with their fingers. Additionally, they will stumble upon one of those mines you set for them before battle. If you have already attacked them while they were downed, a mine may stun them.

Cornering the Yatsukahagi can be a nuisance. However, you can pull up the map and use it as a guide for cutting him off. It won't take too ma🍸▨ny hits more to bring the Seethe down once and for all.

You will want to be charging your Suzaku's Flame Tsuba Guard a💦ttack this entire time. If you land it a second 🐼time, it will be lights out for Yatsukahagi.
