At times, Kunitsu-Gami: Path Of The Goddess has been referred to as being a tower defense game. Personally, I think it has more in common ꩵwith the RTS genre. Then there is the Kamukura Shrine stage... This is the Tower Defense game. Your sole task here is to defend Yoshiro, and survive the night. It is more Pla🎀nts Vs. Zombies than any other stage in the game.

We'll take you through how you should prepare for this stage, what Mazo Talismans will serve you best, how to position your troops, ꧑and just🦩, in general, how to survive the night. Naturally, I'll also point you in the direction of every reward available. Everything you need to know will be covered here!

Kamukura Shrine Preparation

Double Sided Effigy is also a strong choice here, but if you are looking to complete all the bonus objectives, you need Yoshiro to take no damage. However, some non-negotiable Mazo Talismans would be the Esteemed Craftsman talisman so that you can rebuild the most amount of things possible, the Happiness and Anger talisman, so that your villagers will hit harder, Metamorphosis talisman (which you will get from 🍸this stage once you purify all 12 all Defilements).

As for the villagers, you will have 12 of them. If you want to complete the Mazo Talisman objective, you'll need to spend no more than 1200 crystals on them. Thankfully, with the Mazo Talisman suggestions above, that is more than enough. For starters, I suggest having two squadrons. The biggest squadron will guard the bridge. My suggestion is to have three Archers, a Shaman, and two Spearmen (unless you don't have their Deluge attack unlocked). This is the squad that will fa♓ce off against the fearsome Nod🎃erabo.

The secondary squad will hop between the other three positions. For that squad, have two Spearmen backed up by three archers. This squad will be dealing with far weaker enemies♔ than the primary group. Finally, put a Marksman on the platform next to Yoshiro. The Marksman will help clean up the few Hitoban that smuggle through, they will also help support both units if they are getting pushed 🦩back.

If you have the Orochi Mazo Talisman equipped you'll have another 180 Crystals to play with, as♐ the cost of changing roles will be decreased.

Seethe

The Kamukura Shrine primarily features Gaki, Gakinyudo, and Hitoban. They'll come in relatively large numbers, but they aren't anything your troops won't be able to handle. You will also have to contend with the Gotaimen, who are the giant hand-looking Seethe who toss those giant plasma balls. Lastly, you will encounter a Noderabo. This is a massive Seethe that wears an iron bell on its head. This titan is extremely resilient.

Kamukura Shrine Defilement Locations

There are 12 Defilements in this stage. I could walk you through where each one is, but they are literally arranged in a circle that surrounds the stage. It is nearly impossible to miss them. Well, most of them, at least. There is a wrinkle added by this stage. There are tiny Defilements.

These smaller Defilements are found in pots. They are much less visible from afar. There is one in the southwest corner, another on the path slightly north of that one, and then there is a third behind the rubble in the northeast corner of the map. Those three are easier to miss. The rest are as large 𓃲as always a🦂nd circle the stage. They are visible from anywhere.

Kamukura Shrine Trap And Barrier Selection

There are a ton of barriers and traps located all around the stage. The best course of action would be to raise all the barriers directly around Yoshiro, as well as all the traps. Running too far afield would be a mistake. Yoജu need to hu♒nker down around Yoshiro.

Kamukura Shrine Treasure Chest Location

Ther𓄧e are three treasure chests in total in this stage.

• One treasure chest is sunk in the ground near the stone bridge in the center of the stage. It has a massive amount of crystals inside.
• Another chest is partially buried in the southern section of the map (travel up the stairs, and you'll encounter it next to the giant defiled temple. This chest contains a large bundle of rations.
• The black Treasure Chest can be found in the area that needs the debris cleared from it. You will need to have your Thief's Lockpick skill unlocked to open it.

Stage Overview

The majority of work in this stage is prep work. Your primary objective here is to collect 2000 Crystals and give them to Yoshiro to help her break free from the corruption. With all the barriers and traps rebuilt around Yoshiro, you will simply need to hold your position. As we discussed in the troops section, you should have two squads of troops to defend the four lanes the Seethe will travel down. The bridge is where you will need your best troops, as that is wheꦚre the toughest enemies will attack from.

For the most part, you want your villagers to shield around the protective dome on the bridge. However, when those giant projectile-tossing Gotaimen appear, have the Spearmen confront them so that they don't just sit back and toss plasma at you. Beyond that, everyone should be able to hold their positions, especially if you have the corre🍸ct Mazo Talisman's boosting their durability and strength.

The other troops will hop from position to position, being deployed as needed. Since you should have all the positions fortified by barriers and traps, this should be a manageable task for two Spearmen and three Archers. Just make sure you are frequently checking the map so that you can track where the next group of Seethe will be attacking from, a🌺nd position this group of villagers accಞordingly.

Eventually, the massive club-wielding Noderabo will show up. This giant Seethe is among the toughest you will encounter in the game outside of a boss arena. He'll attack from the north, so, he will run directly into your main team. The only thing we would recommend doing is keeping an eye on your Shaman's health, as she is a little squishier than your other troops. Don't hesitate to pull her if she takes too much damage. Once you finish off this behemoth you should have more than enough crystalℱs to cleanse Yoshiro.

If your B-team is otherwise unoccupied, you can have them join the other squad to more efficiently take the Noderabo down, but the main squad should be able to handle it on their own without them, just ♎more slowly.

How To Cheese The Kamukura Shrine Stage With Ease

The Kamukura Shrine level can be quite challenging (especially if you enter into it with a poor loadout), however, if you have been repairing each village as you liberate them, there is a pretty effective method for cheesing it. Instead of spending crystals on giving your villagers roles, if you hoard all the crystals, as long as you have 2000 by the time night falls, you can just spend them all on cleansing Yoshiro. Not only is thi🤡s the quickest way to beat the stage, but it will also complete all the optional objectives!

You should have a pretty healthy maximum crystal capacity. Just by clearing all the Defilements you will get around 800 crystals. The Treasure Chest in the center of the stage will yield 400 crystals if you have the thief leveled up to get their "crystal increase 2" ability. You can equip the Plum Blossoms Mazo Talisman to start the stage with an additional 50 Crystals, meaning you only need to have a maximum crystal capacity of 750 to be able to start the 𒅌stage with enough crystals to purify Yoshiro right from the start.
