The very last stage of Egg Engines in Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe involves a boss fight with the Metal General. This boss has a variety of attacks up its sleeve, many of which can do some decent damage to Ki꧅rby’s health if you’re not careful.
The Metal General bos♛s fight has two phases, so you’ll want to be prepared to take on both of them. Once you know its attack patterns and how it will try to take you down, you can use your Copy Ability to give it a taste of its own medicine.
Copy Ability Choices
When you enter this stage,𒁃 you’ll be t๊aken up to a conveyor belt where you can choose between five Copy Abilities:
- Hi-Jump;
- Beam;
- Mecha;
- Ninja;
- and Sword.
The Hi-Jump and Sword are the weakest of these choices, but you can’t go wrong with Beam, Mecha or Ninja.
Continue right and press the star button. You’ll be taken up a platform to a star door. Go inside to begin a boss fight with Metal General.
How To Defeat Metal General
First Phase
The Metal General has a long sword that it will swipe at you rapidly. It may also extend the sword in front of its body and charge at you with it. As soon as it brings out this sword, jump over the top and behind it. Attack from behind while it continues to swing the sword.
It will also jump into the air and stay there while shooting electricity in multiple directions. Do your best to avoid🅺 this and wait for it to stop this attack.
The Metal General also has the ability to shoot rockets at you. Get close to the boss when it does this and use your Copy Ability to destroy them. You should also hit the Metal General when destroying the rockets.
Second Phase
When you take out half of the Metal General’s HP, it will begin to short circuit. Attack while you c✤an, as it will soon produce a large rocket and jump onto it.
It will fly on the rocket in the background and charge in at you. When you see it coming, jump out of the way.
Eventually, the Metal General will crash the rocket on the ground. Keep a safe distance as it will set the ground surrounding it on fire. Wait for the fire to disappea𒁃r before goiꦛng in for the attack.
Now, the Metal General will regularly charge at you and throw small projectiles. Make sure to destroy these before they hit you. It will also continue to use its sword just like in the first phase, so avoid this attack 🅰and hit it from behind if you can.
After you’ve hit it a few times, it will make another rocket and repeat the same attacks as before: flying around the back of the arena and charging in to hit you. Wait for it to crash and for the fire to dissipate, then go in for some more final hits while avoiding its general attacks.
Keep hitting it until you’ve reduced its HP to zero. You’ll ♌automatically be taken back to Magalor&rsq🔯uo;s ship when the battle is over.
