I went hands on with King Of Meat a few weeks ago at a London event. My experience so far with Amazon Games has been solely MMOs–both New World and Lost Ark have kept me busy for hundreds of hours, and I expect the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:upcoming release of Thro🌄ne And Liberty will do the same♏. So I was surprised when I first received an invitation to ▨try out Amazon Games’ new title, with “Not an MMO” bolded in the email.
King Of Meat is a co-op dungeon crawler-brawler developed by Glowmade Studios, a developer based in Guildford, UK. Glowmade is made up of ex-Lionhead developers and other stalwarts from the UK games industry, and you can instantly tell from the vibe and style of King Of Meat. It’s got this future-punk aesthe༺tic with some propa Bri’ish voice acting and dialogue.

Copa City Is Like If City Skylines 🎶Hosted T🃏he World Cup
Copa City is a city builder where the single purpose of the ✤city is to host a successful ꧒football match.
The game revolves around clearing dungeons and racking up the highest score possible based on run-time and efficiency. You and up to three players need to work together to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Sounds pretty straightforward, but it’s really the dungeon level designer that sets King Of Meat apart. All of the building blocks that the developers used to build the first levels are available in the game for you to use. The system lets you chop and change existing dungeon🔴s or come up with something entirely new, which will definitely spawn nigh-on impossible dungeons. You will, however, have to be able to complete your dungeon by yourself before it can be published.
Dungeons are published on a type of public forum, and tips can be left for dungeons you’ve enjoyed–these don’t hold any value beyond social clout, but from the glimpse I had of the dungeon-building mechanics I can definitely see this being one of the key USP🐎s of King Of Meat. The difficulty of the dungeons is complemented by your character progression.
As you progress, defeating tougher and tougher dungeons, you can level up your character with specific buffs, weapons, and of course, a bunch of cosmetic items. There are leaderboards, and while the game isn’t inherently competitive (there’s no PVP, at least not yet), it’s the sort of thing🐬 that will excel on Twitch when Amazon rolls out its marketing machine. It’s comparable to Fall Guys in that regard.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with King Of Meat, as it’s a pretty different direction for Amazon and feels like a bit of a gamble. But as I sat down to play the game with some randoms at the event, I realized the game has got something fundamental wrapped up: it’s pretty fun. The developer overseeing the sessi𒈔on was keen on us trying out the burp mechanic to begin with, as it pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the game. You can burp on your enemies. And your teammates. It blasts them quite a way, which means you can definitely send your friends into spike traps and explosive barrels.
The dungeons w൲e tried out were pretty easy, but even so, I don’t think we hit the max score on any of them. We had to do parkour, defeat enemies, and solve puzzles, and while the little minions we killed didn’t seem that difficult, I can see how the game might scale. I’m really interested to see how the build min-maxing comes into play with tougher dungeons–will you need certain weapons and buffs to take on max difficulty runs? Possibly, which adds a surprising amount of depth to what appears at first glance to be a casual party outing.
Overall, King Of Meat is a stylish game and clearly a culmination of fun ideas from a passionate team of developers who’ve been offered a fair bit of freedom to do what they want under Amazon Games publishing arm. I’m interested to see whether we get a demo of the dungeon-building mechanics before the launch of the game, becau꧟se I think it’ll be the flexibility of the creator that gets people excited for King Of Meat.
