There are few white whales that I’ve chased in my gaming life quite like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bloodborne Remastered. It’s a game that doesn’t exist, one that I’ve spent years reading rumors about and seeing Twitter accounts lie about for engagement; the eternal promise that a remaster is going to be announced at every upcoming PlaySt𒐪ation State of Play or showcase.
Bloodborne is one of those games that gets almost everything right and a remaster would likel𒈔y fix all of the minꦕuscule issues present in the🌜 original release. But, now that it’s been more than ten years since the game came out, Sony and FromSoftware seem more 🎃interested in focusing on new titles. It seems like it’s time for me to hang up my hat.
I need to accept that a Bloodborne remaster is⛦ never coming.
Technical Issues
There are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:plenty of Bloo♒d💞borne fans holding the line – staying true to the hope that someday soon Bloodborne remastered will be announced as a ‘one more th♛ing’ at a PlayStation showcase. I’m happy for those people to 🔯keep hope alive, but I don’t have much left in me.
While I don’t think it’s out of the question for FromSoftware to work on a remastered version of Bloodborne 🎃168澳洲幸运5开奖网:as the studio juggles multiple projects at once, the game’s connection to Sony feels like a point of friction. Bloodborne was developed by FromSoftware and Sony’s Japan Studio, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the latter of w♉hich Sony closed in 2021. That closure means that it’s possible some of the key development assets ne🙈eded t𝐆o remaster the game have been lost.
It’s certainly possible that everything a studio would need to remaster the game is still there, but there are plenty of stories about 168澳洲幸运5开奖ဣ网:source code being lost after studios shut down, meaning that classic games can’t be remastered like with the original version of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Silent Hill 2.
Moving On To Appreciate What I’ve Got
I don’t have any hard evidence to point to the idea that a Bloodborne remaster will never come out — ꦯit’s tough to prove a negative — but I certainly don’t have any evidence suggesting that it’ll see the light of day. Because of how long I’ve waited, I’ve decided to move on and put that energy into being excited for what else FromSoft has coming down the line.
Of course, the studio has 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elden Ring Nightreign hitting store shelves in May and then 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Duskbloods, a Switch 2 exclusive arriving in 2026, but the studio has also said that it has even more it’s working on in the meantime. FromSoftware CEꦓO Hidetaka Miyazak𝄹i said in December that the studio is working on “multiple projects 🔯[in a] variety of genres.”
As much as I’d love one of thosౠe projects to be a remastered version o✱f Bloodborne, I’m also happy to see what else FromSoft has in store since I haven’t played a game from the studio that I’ve disliked. Bloodborne is great, but I was just as happy to play Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring since the studio’s bar for quality is so high, regardless of what kind of game it’s making.
I’m not telling anyone to join me and give up hope that one day a Bloodborne remaster will launch; there’s still a small part of me holding onto hope for it, but I think I’m going to be a bit happier if I stop expecting it to be announced with each PlayStation showcase. That way, I can appreciate the games that are actually being revealed instead of walking away disappointed about a game that only exists in our collective imaginations. After several years, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:I think I’ve finally🅰 ga🐈ined enough insight to see that.
