Leveling up is your only way to become deadlier on the battlefield and useful to the team's war effort as a whole. In most FPS games, you manage this by just playing over and over again, but Isonzo does something a bit differently when it comes to how you level up your soldier. If you’re not aware of this it can lead to you getting stuck for quite a while as everyone around you gets stronger. So to help you understand how it all works, he🅰re’s a helpful guide to leveling up in Isonzo.

How Levelling Works

Isonzo: The Class Levelling Screen

When it comes to getting better gear and upgrades in Isonzo, there’s a bit of a unique challenge waiting for you. Instead of unlocking items as youꩵ sink time into the game, grinding up XP overall, or playing a specific class, here you have to level a role and complete special tasks after hitting milestones.

It’s an interesting approach that encourages you to figure out how a particular soldier works in order to make them more useful. As an example, in order to unlock the rifle-propelled grenades, you need to get a set number of kills with the hand-thrown version. Essentially teaching you a mechanic through repetition and then providing a reward ﷽based on it. The challenges also increase in difficulty as you level the class, so you’ve got quite the challenge waiting if you want to get stronger.

A handy feature of these upgrades is that they apply to each class across factions. As an example, an unlock for the Mountaineer is available regardless 💦if you switch sides.

Tips For Levelling

Isonzo: The Rewards Screen After A Match

After you’ve wrapped your head around how leveling up works, the next step is to figure out the best ways to grind up all those experience points into something a bit more useful. After all, the better equipment and toys for warfare is locked away at some quite high levels, so it's only going to benefit you by leveling up a class.

Progressing through the game normally is a fine way to do it, but if you want a little boost or the most efficient way to power level then there are a few things worth trying. Here are a few tips for leveling 💦up to keep in mind as you’re running around on the blasted battlefields of Isonzo.

Stick To Just One Role

Isonzo: Rifleman Observing Mortar Soldier Firing

Making any progress in the different soldier classes in Isonzo is going to take a while. Even more so if you’re bouncing between each role frequently during a match. The grind is real and getting ♉through it efficiently should be yo🎶ur goal.

With that in mind, it’s highly recommended that you focus down one particular class if you want to get stronger or at least more useful to the team, faster. This is mainly because it can take quite a while to do some of the challenges, especially later on as your chances for success on particular kills or tasks will vary from match to match. Often you could be blowing through it at one moment, and in the next you’ll hit a wall for a while. So pick your favorite and power through.

Be A Team Player

It may seem a little sycophantic, but being a team player is your best way to level up fast in Isonzo. Every little action that you do helps as it rewards you with experience points and gets you one step closer to more equipment. Plus, doing everything your particular class is supposed to is the best way to get XP. So you have no real 𒁏reason not to be a team player instead of a one-man Rambo.

Whether that’s putting down boxes of ammunition as a rifleman, calling in strikes or attacks as an Officer, and spotting soldiers from afar with Binoculars as a Mountaineer if the Squad Leads too busy. Kills get the most, but every little bit helps and it can mount up in the long run.

Use The Machine Guns

Isonzo: Cutting Down Soldiers With The Machine Gun Nest

Whilst the Machine Gun nests often quickly turn into sniper bait, it’s worth jumping on one for a short time if you’re looking to grind up some XP quickly. They’re the fasting firing weapon on the battlefield and they can turn any busy section of the map into an absolute meat grinder.

Because everyone's using weapons of the era, there’s no real recourse to constant suppressing fire than to charge your position or get lucky with a rifle round. In the right location, you can just farm easy kills as brightly uniformed, and easy-to-spot soldiers, charge directly at you. Although, the amount of ammunition the Machine Gun Nests have is limited, so once it’s dry just move on to the ꦕnext one and repeat.

Keep Going

Isonzo: Unlockable Cosmetics For The Soldiers

Though a lot of the most useful equipment comes around the lower end of the leveling up spectrum. Such as a new rifle at level five for example, and better buffs for roles such as the Officer who gets more spawning options. So it’s worth going until you max out the class.

After you hit the cap for each role at level 20, if you keep going you’ll start to unlock unique cosmetics in Isonzo for your soldier of choice. There are plenty of wardrobe options to choose from so you can put your own personalized touch on your trooper. It’s not a massive reward, but it’s a fun incentive tᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚo keep going with🌠 a particular class, especially if you enjoy using them.

Throw Grenades Often

Isonzo: Distant Grenade Explosions

If you’re looking for a weapon that does a lot of damage and is good for group kills then it’s recommended you unlock the grenades. With how often you’ll come across large blobs of infantry units a well-timed grenade toss can cause a lot of damage.

There’s no indicator to the enemy team when a grenade has been tossed, and there isn’t any option for them to throw it back. So if you have a chance, toss one. A good trick if you’re about to be surrounded, toss one at your feet or close to you. Since combat is often in extremely close quarters, you’re bound to take one or two out with you before 🥃you die, so you’ll get a little XP a♋t least.

As An Officer, Use Call-Ins

Isonzo: An Officers Air Strike Hitting Targets With Kills Displayed

Whether you're powering leveling the Officer class or looking to get a bunch of experience points in general then the Call-In system is going to be your best option. This interesting mechanic essentially involves requesting strikes, bombardments, and reconnaissance flights over enemy territory that are marked by flares.

Flares are shot off by other Officers and Mountaineers. After doing so they mark a position of land for the call-in system and for a few seconds that area is available for attack. Considering how often players end up mobbed together in certain spots, all it takes is one bombing run or gas drop and you'll be swimming in experience points. So use call-ins if you're looking for easy kills and fast XP.
