The season two finale of has a cheeky little easter egg that canonises Mark's appearance in and explains how he got to the Island in the first place.

Fortnite has crossed over and collaborated with so many different series at this point that no one really bats an eye wꦛhen they see Naruto wielding an AK-47 ag🥀ainst LeBron James, despite how undeniably weird it is. There's rarely any attempt to explain where all these characters are coming from, either, as Epic can just wave its hands and say "multiverse" without batting an eye.

We already have a Ready Player One battle royale.

Although most new characters that come to Fortnite are given that basic explanation and left at that, there are some rare occasions where it is actually explained and made canon, such as Batman and the DC Universe's appearances being turned into the Zero Point comic books. Now, out of nowhere, we've got an explanation of how Invincible's Mark Grayson ended up in the world of Fortnite.

Minor spoilers for the Invincible's season two finale below.

In the finale of Invincible's second season, I Thought You Were Stronger, Mark finds himself going up against Angstrom Levy, the main villain of the series and one of the big bads of Invincible overall. As explained in the first episode of the series, Levy has the ability to open up portals to other dimensions, which he uses on Mark to tire him out instead of trying to go head-to-head with the Viltrumite.

Levy's use of dimensional portals causes Mark to be sent all across the multiverse, including to a world where dinosaurs talk and where he gets to meet a rip-off of Spider-Man named Agent Spider. Although Levy manages to keep him bouncing between dimensions for a while, Mark eventually gets the upper hand and comes out of a portal swinging a gun and knocking Levy away, giving him the time to properly fight him.

You might think that Mark getting to chat with Batman would be the easter egg highlight of the episod♏e, but the gun that Mark swings at Levy is the real star of the show. , the rifle that Mark is holding is actually from Fortnite, which suggests that the portal that Mark just flew out of was the Fortnite universe.

The exact rifle that Mark is holding is the .

While Mark doesn't directly mention Fortnite or his experiences there, this subtly canonises his appearance in the game and explains how he got there. That doesn't give us a reason for Omni-Man and Atom Eve also showing up alongside him, but it's still a fun easter egg that doubles up as an in-universe explanation for all of the Mark Graysons you see hitting the griddy.
