168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Naughty Dog makes really good games. It’s not inaccurate for me to make that statement, but I will stand by it: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Crash Bandicoot, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Uncharted, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us are three giants that are beloved across the game industry, and more recently across film 🃏and television too.

The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation studio has given us the best graphics of the times, the best stories of the times, and the best gameplay mechanics of the times. Well, I still think the first The Last of Us was dated as far as gameplay goes, but 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us Part 2 was 💧exceptional for pushing the mechanical depth of the genre.

With all that said, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is an exciting game, but one that’s going to face turbulence; 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:it already is. It’s going to be carrying the weight of The Last of Us Part 2’s mixed receꦑption - even more so given that the HBO series received a similarly polarizing response - and those strong feelings, more than Naughty Dog's history of exceptional quality, will color how players view Intergalactic.

Is It Heresy Or Prophecy To Be Excited About Naughty Dog’s Next Game?

It doesn’t take much to make a group of gamers mad nowadays, but so far, we’ve had one (1) trailer for Interg🎉alactic, back in December 20꧋24. That’s enough, apparently.

The trailer features Jordan A. Mun, played by Tati Gabrielle, as a bounty hunter aboard her spaceship. These four and a half minutes are littered with nostalgic product placements and pop culture to hit that ‘80s sci-fi vibe: Porsche, Sony (of course), Adidas, an ‘80s-era anime, and an old-school compact disc for the Pet Shop Boys. At first, I was thrown off by the placements, as it feels strange for a first-party PlayStation Studio to be sporting quite so many in the span of four minutes. While some of it may be long-term𒅌 funding for the studio to keep working away, I think a lot of i🍌t is actually there for the theme. Unlike Monster Energy in Death Stranding, whatever that was💞.

Tati Gabriel💮le also portrayed Nora in HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2.

Okay, so we have a cool setting, cool music, cool graphics, a cool character, cool. Cool, right?

Nah, gamers hate it already. They might avoid saying it’s because the protagonist is a woman - or worse yet, they might straight up admit the misogyny - but it’s also a leftover effect of the controversies surrounding The Last of Us Part 2. Forget the fact that The Last of Us - including Part 2 - is one of the most complex stories in the past 15 years of gaming. Forget that Uncharted gave us an incredible decade of narrative-driven, action-forward treasure hunting. Forget that Crash Bandicoot was… well, that was a pretty fun PS1 game. None of that matters, because people have decided they hate this alre൩ady.

We Can Do This The Hard Way, Or The Hard Way

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet’s launch is going to be a mixed bag; there’s no mystery around that. It’ll either be heralded as an incredible game, or it will suffer immense hate. Actually, no, it’ll get both. N🤪aughty Dog is already preparing Tati Gabrielle for what she might have to deal with, as even Laura Bailey - an incredibly notable and respected actor in gaming and animation - faced countless death threats✨ for her role as Abby in The Last of Us Part 2. Tꦍhe sad fact is, there’s no way around it happening again.

To this hate-preparation, I’ve seen gamers commen🦹ting on social media about how Naughty Dog should⭕ change the way it does things so that there is no hate. But let’s take a step back for a moment - who needs to change: the people telling a story, or the audience threatening workers with death?

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will have people praising Naughty Dog’s quality once more, and it will also have people attacking Naughty Dog and everyone involved once more. The studio knows this. The fans know this. The attackers already know this. Criticisms for any crunch the studio may once again inflict will fall behind, while criticisms hate towards writers, actors, women, and POC, will all be wrapped up in one angry package, front and center. The only options n⭕ow are to gear up for that hate to ensure the story is still delivered to the fans, or not bother telling the story at all. ‘Gamers’, despite the name, would have you believe they’d ra🌞ther not have the game at all.
