When you think of characters being 'immortal', you'll probably think of someone who just lives forever and can't be killed. For certain game characters, it's a little more complicated than that.

Some can regenerate themselves back from even a single cell, some have a kind of supernatural element protecting their existence, and some simply can't be killed for reasons even they don't know. Whatever the reason, these characters are, barring certain extremely specific weaknesses, effectively immortal.

10 Geras - Mortal Kꦡombat 11 ⭕

Geras manipulating sand in Mortal Kombat 11

Kronika's first and foremost minion, Geras, is in his own words, a "fixed point" in time. He can be injured or incapacitated, but if he's killed, he just gets right back up, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:stronger than before. As a fixed point, Geras exists, and that existence is an absolute truth of ꦉhistory.

That history says he doesn't die yet, so he simply... doesn't. Of course, this ultimately proved to be his undoing when Raiden tied an anchor to him and lobbed him into the bottomless Sea of Blood. He'll still be there, falling, drowning, until time itself collapses.

9 X Parasites𒆙 - Metroid Series

An X Parasite sighting in Metroid Dread

The X Parasites are the most dangerous creatures in the entire galaxy, because they can reproduce themselves nearly endlessly. Worse than that, they can infect and replace almost any kind of living creature. Normal weapons are useless against them; if they're destroyed, they just break up into cell bodies that reform elsewhere.

The only thing that can kill an X is a Metroid, which are extinct at the time🦩 of Metroid Fusion. It was only🎉 thanks to the Metroid vaccine Samus received after being infected by the X that she, and she alone, could fight them.

8 Rꦡaven - Guilty Gear Series 𒐪

Raven about to be operated on by Faust in Guilty Gear Xrd

Raven was originally a German soldier serving during the crusades, at least until he and his unit met an untimely end at the hands of an enemy ambush. The only problem was that, after he died, he woke up, wounds healed and no worse for wear. He would come to find that no matter what kind of physical trauma he subjected himself to, up to and including complete incineration, Raven simply wouldn't die.

It's been hypothesized that he was born with some manner of genetic anomaly that facilitates this, and he once idly mused that he might be able to die if he could completely erase his soul from existence — though even that he's kind of iffy on.

7 ꦰ Wario - Wario Land Series ♔

Wario Land 4 cover art

For reasons that remain utterly mysterious to this day, Wario is completely incapable of dying, at least within the confines of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Wario Land series. He can be frozen, crushed, incinerated, zombified, and all sorts of other nasty fates, but give him a few minutes, and he'll be right as rain.

Some fans have posited that Wario never dies simply because he doesn't feel like it, which would certainly 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:be in character for him. If t🐬here is an actual reason, Nintendo has never shared it with 🔴us.

6 The Flood - Halo Series 🐼

Master Chief being attacked by Flood pods

While the Flood are most well known for the variety of infected forms they assume, from the combat forms to the pod forms, the true identity of the Flood ﷽lies in an array of microscopic spores. As the Flood share a single consciousness, linked by a Gravemind, every single Flood spore holds the entire collective within itself.

If that one spore can find a host, it can begin spreading its biomass. From there, more sophisticated means of infection, like the pod forms, can be birthed. The only way to truly wipe out the Flood would be to starve them, but that would mඣean annihilating all life in the galaxy — which kin🅘d of defeats the purpose.

5 🐠 Erebus - Persona 3

Erebus in Persona 3 FES

At the end of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona 3's main story, the protagonist sacrifices himself to become the Great Seal and keep Nyx at bay. However, as was revealed in The Answer, the Great Seal isn't meant to keep Nyx away from humanity, but rather to keep humanity away from Nyx. Specifically, to guard against Erebus, the living incarnation of humanity's subconscious desire for death and the end of all things.

As death is an unkillable concept💝, Erebus cannot be permanently defeated, despite the best efforts of SEES and Elizabeth. As long as at least one human craves death, Erebus will be there, knocking at the door.

4 Dae𒁃dric Princes - Elder Scrolls Series

Mehrunes Dagon from the Elder Scrolls series

In the lore of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elder Scrolls series, when the gods proposed the creation of the mortal realm, one of the ancient races, the Daedr🥀a, thought that giving up their divine powers to live in such a realm was💫 dumb — so they left for Oblivion instead.

The Daedra are still just as immortal as they've always been, even when they take form on Mundus. If they're killed, they just pop back up in Oblivion. Of the Daedra, the most powerful and most immortal are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Daedric Princes. Due to a combination of their Daedric nature and their own terrifying might, no Daedric Prince ha﷽s ev𝕴er been killed, on or off Mundus.

3 🍨 The Undead - Dark Souls

The Chosen Undead kneeling at a Bonfire in Dark Souls

When Gwyn refused to make way for the Age of Darkness over his Age of Fire, the curse of undeath began to take hold of humanity, striking individuals seemingly at random. A person afflicted with undeath, simply put, can't die. If an Undead is mortally wounded, they'll just reappear at a Bonfire.

This, unsurprisingly, sits poorly with the people of the world, who make a habit of imprisoning Undead. They leave them to waste away, since they can't be killed. With enough time, an Undead will lose all sense of reason and humanity 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and turn Hollow; though even then, they can't die.

2 ✅ Sharon - Guilty Gear Se🌃ries

Sharon with Slayer in Guilty Gear Xrd

Another immortal character in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Guilty Gear universe, Sharon is the loving wife of the vampir🗹e, Slayer. Sharon is ageless and absolutely untouchable, and we know this for a fact be💧cause Slayer regularly drains her body of blood completely — only for her to be fine a moment later.

Unlike with Raven, we actually have an explanation for why Sharon is the way she is. Apparently, in the metaphysical realm of the Backyard, where the 'coding' of all things in our reality lie, there's a particular glitch in Sharon's code that resets her when she's supposed to die. Have you ever made a mistake when you're writing code, and the program can't properly execute? Same thing.

1 Solaris - Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) 🌊

Solaris in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

Solaris was originally a god of time and the sun, worshipped by the people of Soleanna. It took the form of a special white flame that, aga🅘inst his better judgment, the Duke of Soleanna attempted to harness as a power ꦐsource. This resulted in Solaris splitting into two creatures, Mephiles the Dark and Iblis.

Even separated, both Mephiles and Iblis are still super-dimensional lifeforms, making them virtually impervious to physical harm. The only way to destroy them, and by extension Solaris, was to go back in time and snuff out Solaris's flame before it could be harnessed.
