Tekken 8 Preview - Still King Of The 3D Fight🔜ing Ring
We already knew that Tekken 8’s combat was excellent, but its single-player content is a knock𒆙out victory as well.
How Long Does The Story Mode Take To Beat?
The first big bit of beatable content in Tekken 8 is its story mode, The Dark Awakens. This campaign is made up of 15 different chapters, with some sections consisting of one fight and a few cutscenes, and others taking up a bit more time and focus. Beating this mode on normal difficulty will take you around four or five hours depending on your skill level.
Once you've beaten the story mode, you'll unlock Reina and Jun to play as. You can also play through the mode again on harder difficulties and, presuming you're not watching the cutscenes again, you're looking at another hour or two for each playthrough, again dependent on skill. If you're looking to beat it a couple of times and really master the mode, then you're probably looking at 10 hours, but if you're just g🐭oing through once then it's a relatively bri🌸ef campaign.
How Long Does Arcade Quest Take To Beat?
The next big bit of single-player content that Tekken 8 has is Arcade Quest, a new mode that has you going through various arcade areas, beating up a bunch of opponents, and slowly learning the intricacies of how to play Tekken. It's not the longest mode in the world, though. There are seven different areas to explore in the mode, with each section taking between half an hour and an hour to finish.
To beat Arcade Quest, you're looking at another four or five hours of gameplay. That's if you stick to one character and keep levelling up their rank, however, as it resets when you change character and means a bit more grinding to reach higher levels. If you're making sure to fight every opponent in Arcade Quest and fully finish each section, then it'll take around six or seven hours to fully complete.
How Long Does It Take To Finish?
Although those modes might make Tekken 8 seem like a relatively slim experience, with around 10 hours of single-player content, that is far from the end of what the game has to offer. There are also Character Episodes for each of the 32 fighters, combo challenges, Tekken Ball matches, and online fights to take part in.
Not counting the online fighting and just general gameplay that can technically be considered endless depending on how much Tekken you're planning on playing, you're looking at easily another five hours to get through all of the Character Episodes and combo challenges. That's if you'🎃re skilled enough to get throug🐓h them at all, as they can get pretty challenging.
