The main quests of the base game Horizon Zero Dawn will give you a ton of experience with a variety of machines and tasks. This is why it's a good idea to play and complete the main game before venꦓturing into the Frozen Wilds territory. Not only are all of the machines that you meet in this area much harder, they also r♋equire you to call on a lot of skills that you'll learn in the base game in order to defeat them.

Additionally, skills that you pick up throughout the main quests in the story will frequently be used to complete tasks in Frozen Wilds. There are parts of the storyline o🐼f the expansion quests that will make more sense if you play the main game first as well.

9 𝓡 Complete The Hunting Grounds In The Main Game First

Hunting Grounds are areas that can be found acꦡross the main game that have specific 🔯challenges for you to complete. All of the challenges involve you using a form of fighting or weaponry to take down different machines in a variety of ways. The Hunting Grounds put your skills to the test and quite often it forces you to improve them.

The techniques that you learn by going and doing the challenges at the Hunting Grounds will become valuable in the Frozen Wilds expansion world. For example, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Spurflints Hunting Grounds focus on improving yo🔴ur stealth skills. In the expansion, you are very much left to it and need to think carefully about how to approach certain machines.

8 You're Going To Miss Thunderjaws

Thunderjaws are quite literally the biggest machine you will find roaming the environment in Horizon Zero Dawn - Stormbirds are a close second. These machines are notoriously tricky to fight as they have a multitude of attacks up their sleeves, and when they don't work, it throws its weight around instead to try to cru🧸sh you. They can take a little while to take down but often the resources you are rewarded with are worth it.

However, as tedious as fighting a Thunderjaw is, you are almost certainly going to miss it afte💜r meeting some of the new additions in Frozen Wilds. They're big, they're mean, and completely dangerous. They're fun toꦡ fight but they can make you nostalgic for the old Thunderjaw battles.

7 Do the Banuk Climbing Trails 𝄹

There is a Merchant in Meridian that specializes in purchasing old Banuk Artifacts. To find these artifacts you can purchase a map from another Merchant and go to the marked points to find them. Each artifact will be at the end of a long and challenging Banuk climbing trail. Why is it worth doing this you aꦍsk?

The Frozen Wilds expansion is a whole new Banuk territory and your climbing skills are going to come🔜 into it a lot. Finding your way around the bitter wilderness is hard on its own, but coupled with some of the climbing and exploring that you need to do, you'll be thankful that you had some practice beforehand.

6 Do Your Weapon Tutor⛦ials

When you purchase a new weapon, you have the option to do a side mission for it i🌟n the form of a weapon tutorial. These tutorials consist of you completing certain tasks whilst using that specific weapon. Often they're nothing more than teachi⛎ng you how to properly use the weapon and get you used to how it works against enemies.

That being said, they're still 🌠extremely useful to do as it increases your expertise with that tool. By having a good amount of experience with a weapon, you are giving yourself a better chance at winning some of the more difficult fights that come with the expansion quests.

5 ♒ ♉ Complete All Of The Cauldrons

Even if you decide not to play the entirety of the base game first, then at least do the Cauldrons. At the end of each Cauldron, you learn how to override certain sets of machines. There are four Cauldrons to explore in the main game, and they do take a bit of time ♑to fully♛ complete - but it's worth it.

By learning to override all of the machines frꦐom the Cauldrons, you are giving yourself the strategic advantage against tougher machines, as you can override a machine and make it 🎃fight for you.

4 🉐 Lear🦂n How To Properly Use Overrides

Overriding a machine can be extremely👍 fun - but if used properly, it can become deadly to your enemies. There is always a risk to overriding machines, as you need to sneak up behind them and get very close to be able to sta🐭rt the override process. This is where things can go from bad to worse. If other machines spot you or you stop mid-override then you will be in a very vulnerable position.

This i🔯s why it's important to learn how to override machines properly and use those overrides to assist you in battle. There are machines in the Frozen Wilds that come from the base game, so if you learn their overrides, then at least you💎 have the potential for some backup should you need it.

3 🗹 Spend Your Shards On Good Weapons♊

Horizon Zero Dawn Aloy Using Shadow Hunting Bow

You will be wildly unprepared if you walk into the Frozen Wilds with basic weapons. And you probably won't survive very long. Gaining weapons through the main game can be a little tedious, as many of the good ones require you to have a lot of shards and certain machine parts to be able to purchase. There are fearsome new machines to contend with and having 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the best arrow types can help you fight them.

However, it's worth spending the time to get the good weaponry, such as a Shadow Carja Hunter Bow,▨ before heading into the expansion area. Merchants sell some really useful thi𓆉ngs to you and there aren't many in the new area so it's worth buying them before you go.

2 Max Out Yo♒ur Health Carry Capacity 🌸

Medicinal Plant Hindergold amongst grass with trees in background

Over the game, you can increase how much heaꦬlth Aloy has and you can increase her health potion carry capacity. If you're lacking in health, then you can increase it by going around and picking some of the many medicinal plants scattered across the environment. However, these plants are scarce in the expansion, so it's a good idea to fill up Aloy's health before heading there.

Also, theജ health potions are really useful when you find yourself in a tough situation. They can boost your health and replenish it very quickly, which is especially useful in the middle of a fight. Again, these are hard to come by and hard to craft in the expansion area as some resources are very hard to find.

1 The Shield Weaver Armor Wi🐼ll Be Your Best Friend 🌞

Aloy standing on rocks in armor with trees behind her

The Shield Weaver Armor is the ultimate armor that you can find in the base game. You can only access it through 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:collecting Power Cells throughout the main story quests in order to unlock the armor. The Armor creates🎀 a protective force field around Aloy that absorbs a lot of the damage from incomiꦏng attacks without transferring it to Aloy. This means you can fight harder and for longer with far less of the usual consequences.

It also regenerates itself and her hea💙lth quite rapidly. This ma♉kes fighting tough machines a lot easier and you are definitely going to need it. By no means is the Frozen Wilds world easy, in fact, it's fair to say it's a lot harder than the main game.
