Blade was also released as a playable character during the version 1.2 update, and he fo🎐llows the path of Destruction with the Wind combat type. If you want to play as Blade, you'll have to get used to being on low health throughout the battle.

Best Relics And Planar Ornaments For Blade

Honkai Star Rail Blade Relic Screen

Other than your Light Cone, you'll get most of the damage boost from your Relics and Planar Ornaments. Apart from getting different stat boosts by just putting these items on Blade, you also get a set bonus if you have two or four pieces of the same set. These set bonuses are a vital 🌄part of a good Blade build, and here are the best ones:

Type

Name

Reason For Synergy With Blade

Relics

Longevous Disciple

This Relic set was introduced in the same update as Blade, and it can be found in the Alchemy Commission area of The Xianzhou Luofu. It increases your maximum HP by 12 percent if you have two pieces from this set.

Although, the four-piece bonus is where it truly shines for Blade. If he gets attacked or gets his health taken away by his skills or an ally, his Crit Rate increases by eight perce🍃nt and stacks up to two🀅 times.

Guard of Wuthering Snow

This set reduces the damage taken by Blade and also has a secondary effect if your health is below or equal to 50 percent. At the start of Blade's turn, if he has less than or equal to 50 percent health, he heals up and ﷺgains Energy.

This perfectly synergizes with Blade since he consumes a lot of his own health with his skills. Although, it might mess with one of his Bonus Abilities a bit.

Musketeer Of Wild Wheat

This is one of the general sets that increase his ATK Percent, SPD, and Basic ATK DMG. ATK Percent might not be a useful stat on Blade, but the Ba💙sic ATK DMG is great on him sin🍸ce a lot of his DMG comes out of enhanced Basic Attacks.

Thief Of Shooting Meteor

This Relic set might not be the best on Blade, but it can be a decent replacement if you're new to the game. It gives him up to 32 percent Break Effect and regenerates his Energy whenever you trigger Weakness Break on an enemy.

Most of Blade's abilities deal AoE DMG, which makes it quite easy to break the Toughness bar of multiple enemies.

Planar Ornaments

Inert Salsotto

This is the best Ornament set for Blade because it gives him an eight percent Crit Rate and increases his Ultimate and Follow-Up damage by 15 percent if his Crit Rate is over 50 pe✃rcent, which is a necessity on DPS characters.

Blade's Follow-Up attack deals a lot of damage and it affects all the enemies on the field, which makes this perfect.

Rutilant Arena

This set is similar to Inert Salsotto, except the secondary effect only triggers at 70 percent or higher Crit Rate and it buffs Basic Attack and Skill instead. This ജmight not be as useful on Blade since his Skill doesn't deal damage.

Now that you know the best sets you can use on Blade, it's also important to understand what type of stat is the best on each type of gear. There are a total of six items you can put on this character including both Relics and Planar Ornaments, and each piece has its oꦑwn main stat an𒀰d sub-stats.

For Blade, the best sub-stats you can look for are HP Percent, Crit Rate/DMG, and ATK Percent. Unlike other characters, Blade doesn't require as much SPD since you'd want him to be attacked more while also letting his Skill last for as long as possible. Moreover, here are the best main stats for him:

Gear Type

Best Main Stat

Body

Crit Rate/DMG

Feet

HP Percent

Planar Sphere

Wind DMG Bonus

Link Rope

HP Percent

HP Percent is better than ATK Percent on Blade because his scaling is highly based on his HP, while only a little on his ATK.

Best Light Cones For Blade

Honkai Star Rail Blade Light Cone Screen

You can only put the Light Cones with the Destruction♊ path on Blade if you want to activate the special ability, but you still have a ton of choices w♕hile building him in Honkai: Star Rail:

The Unreachable Side

Blade's signature Light Cone is the best in slot for him as it gives a high Crit Rate and HP while increasing his DMG every time his HP is lowered, which is a common occurrence.

A Secret Vow

This Light Cone is much easier to acquire for an F2P or low-spending player, and it also increases your DMG by default. The DMG is even higher if the enemy's current HP is equal to or higher than Blade.

Nowhere To Run

This Light Cone can be a good starting choice if you're planning to use Blade for farming a horde of mobs since it increases your ATK and restores your HP based on your ATK whenever he defeats an enemy.

Shattered Home

Blade has some great three-star Light Cone choices as well, and this one increases his DMG against enemies with more than 50 percent HP. This will give you🀅 quite a lot of edge during the start of a battle.

Mutual Demise

This Light Cone might even be better than some four-star Light Cones at Superimposition Five as it essentially gives you a 24 percent Crit Rate during the entire battle.

Blade Traces Overview And Priority

Honkai Star Rail Blade Cool Pose Splash

Finally, if you're planning to build Blade, it's important to know what his Traces do and what you should prioritize while upgrading them. Leveling up Trace♈s is an expꦡensive task in Honkai: Star Rail, so knowing the priorities can go a long way. Here's what all of his Traces do:

Trace Name

Type

Function

Shard Sword

Basic Attack

Deals a certai❀n amount of Wind D🌞MG to a single enemy.

Forest of Swords

Enhanced Basic Attack

Deals Wind DMG based on his HP and ATK to an enemy, and lesser damage to enemies adjacent to it. This attack consum🐽es 🥂ten percent of your maximum health.

Hellscape

Skill

Takes away 30 percent of Blade's Max HP to enhance the next three Basic Attacks and increase their DMG.

Death Sentence

Ultimate

Blade's HP is set at 50 percent and this attack deals Wind DMG to an enemy and the ones adjacent to it.

Shuhu's Gift

Talent

Whenever Blade takes DMG in any way, he gains a stack. When he gains five stacks, he performs a Follow-Up attack dealing damage to all enemies while recovering 25 percent of his health.

Karma Wind

Technique

Performs an attack in front of him. If the attack hits an enemy, consumes 20 percent health at the start of the battle and deals high Wind DMG to all enemies.

Neverending Deaths

Bonus Ability

If the enemy you attack with your enhanced Basic Attack already has their Weakness Broken, Blade restores some HP.

Vita Infinita

Bonus Ability

I𝓰ncreases the healing that Blade gets if his HP is 50 percent o🌞r lower.

Cyclone of Destruction

Bonus Ability

Increases the Follo💯w-Up attack's DMG by 20 percent.

If you read the scaling for Blade's attacks, you'll realize that his Talent deals the most damage and it also attacks all the enemies, which makes this the priority for upgrades. On𝐆ce you're done with the Talent, you can upgrade his Basic Attack followed by the Ultimate. This will make your Blade 💟a good damage dealer already.

You can upgrade his Skill last since the DMG boost you get from that isn't too high. Finally, mak𝓡e sure you upgrade all his Bonus Abilities and other nodes wherever possible.
