If 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hollow Knight: Silksong is anything like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hollow Knight, then I know I’m going to love it. I tend to enjoy games without setting myself too many expectations or setting any bars too high; I even 𝓰loved No Man’s Skyꦓ back when it first launched because I had fun with what it was, rather tha♕n what it cou🌊ld have been.

That said, Silksong has been cooking for quite some time now, since Hollow Knight’s release over eight years ago, and Silksong’s announcement six years ago, and I do not doubt that Team Cherry is working hard to make the once-expansion-now-standalone-game everything it can be. But after so many years of prolonged silence, widespread anticipation, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:comedic💖ally delusional impatience stri🅷king hard, I f꧋eel like it’s past the point of being what people want.

We Almost Got GTA 6 Before Hollow Knight: Silksong… We Still Might

Hollow Knight: Silksong feels like the indie equivalent of GTA 6 or The Elder Scrolls 6 (sixth entries t𝓰ake a while, apparently), in that the heavy anticipation or premature announcements lead to a bui🦹ldup of excitement that, while good marketing, snowballs into something that will almost always become impossible to meet.

That’s exact🍸ly why Half-Life lay dormant for so long.

Hollow Knight is a fantastic game, and one that I love so much that I plan to add it to my tattoo sleeves next month, but even I’m aware that when the drumroll reaches a deafening climax, the silence once it’s over will only be more apparent. Hollow Knight: Silksong will be great - maybe even better than the original game - but it’s not going to change people’s lives beyond taking away the ꦐurge to co﷽mment “Where’s Silksong?” on every Nintendo Direct.

Silksong Is Not Going To Be The Best Game Ever Made

I’m not trying to put a downer on the eventual release of the game, which, after unclear mes♔saging from the Xbox ROG Ally announcement, should be later this year. I’m just as excited as anyone, since Hollow Knight sunk its hooks in me way back when it launched on Nintendo Switch in 2018. The game, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:alongside the incredible soundtrack, remains one of my top indie picks.

My worry is the disappointment that will follow it; not if, but when. You cannot please everyone, and when everyone has been chomping at the bit for even a split-second appearance of 𒁃Hornet in every Direct for years, it will fall short of many expectations that have been cast way too far. Of course, my mention of No Man’s Sky earlier is not a comparison to this, as Hello Games’ handful of team members struggled to deliver on the promises given under the pressure of heavy marketing from Sony.

Team Cherry, on the other hand, is made up of three people. Three people who have not made huge promises outside of some delayed release windows, and have given very little away as to the actual game. The snowball was started by a 2019 ꦰannounceꦇment and has been consistently rolled by eager fans since then.

I’m not worried about whether or not I’m going to enjoy Hollow Knight: Silksong. I’m worried about the rece💛ption it’s going to have, as a pure culmination of the passage of time and nothing more; enough to turn 🌃excitement into a bad thing.
