Part of the appeal of Helldivers 2 is its tight third-person gameplay, where players have access to a variety of stratagems to dispatch foes. It's a first for Helldivers , and has certainly helped in its success. That gameplay, combined with its meta-narrative of liberating planets, has been a recipe for success.

The Review Bomb Cape Is Coming

That said, all is not bad in the world of Helldivers. That's because there is confirmation that the "Review Bomb" cape does exist, and it will come out at some point. News of its existence comes by way of former CEO Johan Pilestedt, .

Previously, the cape's existence had been debunked on Discord by the game's community manager. In a post back in late May, Twinbeard said that the cape did not exist, and its concept was blown out of proportion. That statement came in stark contrast with Pilestedt's previous words that the cape was in the works along with some concept art of it.

Now, it looks like there's no more confusion. The cape exists, and it is coming. When it remains to be seen, but it's real. So, while Helldivers 2 won't be getting a story mode, at least there's some consolation at the end of the day.
