only released four months ago (that's right, 2024 has been long), but it's already lost around 90 percent of its tot🧸al player base on .
We're more than halfway into 2024 now and it's fair to say that one of🐓 the biggest surprises of the year so far has been Helldivers 2. Before launch, it seemed like no one was all that interested in the game aside from fans of the first entry, 𒆙but it suddenly blew up and b🥃ecame one of the biggest success stories that PlayStation has ever had.

Helldivers 2's Save The Children Major Order Made Me Feel Like A Real Hero
Arrowhead made the Helldivers 2 Major Order c꧋ount in the♓ most whoselome way possible.
Since launch, Helldivers 2 has had a bit of a rocky time keeping its momentum up, especially when it comes to Steam. We probably don't need to remind you 💫about that time Sony made PSN sign-ins mandatory and caused whole cou🍬ntries꧅ to be unable to play the game. Well, things have gotten better since then, but it seems that Helldivers 2 is ༺losing a little stܫeam on... Steam.
Helldivers 2 Has Lost 90 Percent Of Its Playerbase On Steam
, Helldivers 2's performance on Steam has seen a significant drop since launch, where () it managed to reach an i🦋mpressive peak of 458,709 players. Now, Helldivers 2 on Steam is seeing player peaks of around 44,938 as of the time of writing, which is still a healthy number, but represents a big drop.
There's no clear reason why this is happening, but at least part of the problem is surely because of PlayStation's treatment of the game on PC. Even if PS🦄N sign-ins were made optional after a lot of review-bombing, it's sure to have left a bad taste for some players. Beyond that, it seems that some fans have just lost interest right now, despit💝e some interesting things being in the works.
It's not easy to access PS5 player numbers, so there's no easy way to say how many are currently playing on PS5. 44, 938 players on Steam indicates you won't have a hard time finding a match, th▨ough.
If the🍸se numbers make you worried about Helldivers 2's future, then I wouldn't take them too seriously. For starters, this kind of thing is natural as a game stops being the big new hot thing, which Helly D certainly was at the start of 2024. There are a lot of games that have come out since then, so it was bound to lose a chunk of its players.
It's also worth noting that these numbers are only representative of the playerbase on PC, Helldivers 2's secondary console, which means that they're probably much higher on PS5. We don't have proof of that and they could be around the same🦂, but the amount of community discussion that still happens daily suggests that there are still a lot of dedicateꦏd players.

If FromSoft Makes A Co-Op Game I'll Finally Be Ready To Praise The Sun
I don't suffer through FromSoft gamesᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ, but I'd sign up for a co-op Soulslike.
