Helldivers 2 Should Live On Even If Development Stops

That's a hopeful message, but one that was met with a bit of scepticism, as another player asked if Pilestedt really meant forever, or if it's just until the servers get shut down. He then said that it'll be playable "forever if I get to choose", which suggests that he's aware it's not completely his decision and could be something decided by PlayStation.
It seems that he's already thought some of the possible scenarios for Helldivers 2's future through, though, as he revealed that if Arrowhead finished development on the game and moved onto something new, then the team would "build automation on the gamemaster and other features", allowing players to keep playing without♈ Joel being in control.
There's clearly been a lot of thought put into what happens to Helldivers 2 when Arrowhead moves on to another project, but it's likely not something that the team has to think about for some time.
