Summary

  • Heihachi Mishima is back in Tekken, and he'll be the third DLC character in the fall.
  • Originally presumed dead, Heihachi is shown very much alive in a brand-new DLC trailer that released at Evo.
  • That DLC trailer is also presumably for the upcoming free story DLC, which will also incorporate the other season pass characters.

It wouldn't be an Evo tournament without the presence of Tekken, and longtime series producer Katsuhiro Harada dropped an absolute bomb of news. Heihachi Mishima is back, and he will be the next DLC fighter for Tekken 8. He'll be released at some point in the fall and will serve as the third of four planned characters, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:following Eddy Gordo and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Lidia Sobieska.

In othe♌r words, Heihachi is not dead. We repeat, Heihachi𝄹 is not dead.

Wait, So What The Heck Happened To Heihachi?

Tekken fans might remember that Heihachi was killed off for good (or so we thought) in Tekken 7. That's because after going one-on-one against Kazuya, Heihachi lost the battle, even after using up all his strength. In a mirror to the Tekken of old, Kazuya tosses Heihachi off the cliff into a pool of magma, thus ending the life of one of Tekken's key figures.

Flash forward to Tekken 8, and Heihachi was not part of the game's roster on account of being dead and all. He's referenced multiple times and shown in flashbacks, but he was never showcased alive. His death was confirmed in-game, as well as by Harada. That is until Sunday's massive reveal.

, describes a group called the Tekken Monks taking out the remnants of the Mishima Zaibatsu. It features Eddy Gordo prominently before finally revealing the return of Heihachi. The final tag line of the trailer is "The King of Iron Fist Resurrection." Meanwhile, the trailer's description states "Not all fights end in cliffhangers."

That title, "The King of Iron Fist Resurrection," will presumably be the title of what is likely to be a DLC story chapter. Previously, it was anno🐲unced that Tekken 8 would get a DLC expansion of its story sometime in the fall, which now appears to be ce✅ntered around Heihachi. While Heihachi and other DLC characters will be paid downloads, Harada previously confirmed that the story mode will be free.

Considering that the Tekken 8 base story mode ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, it makes perfect sense that this DLC would pick up from where things left off. More so, it'll prominently feature the DLC characters, giving things a fresh coat of pain. Regardless of where the story takes fans, it's nice to know that everyone's favorite angry grandpa, Heihachi Mishima, is back from the dead.
