I’ve made the case that it’s the perfect time to st﷽art playing Destiny 2 countless times over the years, and I always meant it. The 2018 expansion Forsaken﷽, 2019’s relaunch on Steam and pivot to free-to-play, 2020’s New Light Campaign, the entire Witch Queen era, and, most recently, the introduction of Guardian Ranks with the Lightfall expansion were all solid jumping on points for the unconverted, and as a proud evangelist for the game, I used every opportunity to spread the good word.
Being a missionary for Destiny hasn’t been easy lately. Lightfall disappointed, especially compared to The Witch Queen, and the internal struggles at Bungie, including a round of mass layoffs, have done nothing to restore anyone’s faith in the game. I’ve personally been on hiatus from it and haven’t spent much time with the last two seasons. There’s a common sentiment among long-time Destiny players that this year’s Final Shape expansion, which will deliver the finale to tꦦhe decade-long Light and Darkness Saga, will be a good jumping off point. How can I recommend Destiny 2 to new players when it’s not in great shape, the development team has been fractured (in part by layoffs and in part by devs moving to Bungie’s next big thing, Marathon) and many veterans are considering leaving the game behind this year?
Release The D⛎estiny 2 Dating Sim You Cowards

And lo, the clouds did part and a righteous guiding light shined upon thee. Of all places, it's , proselytizing the glory of Destiny 2 to the unwashed masses. Look on in wonder, ye knaves, for this is the perfect time to start playing Destiny 2 once again.
The bundle is Destiny 2: The Story So Far, and it comes with every piece of content that exists in the game today. That is four expansions: Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, The Witc🌠h Queen, and Lightfall, plus the Forsaken Pack, the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack, and Lightfall’s annual pass, which gives you access to the current seasonal content and dungeons. The entire bundle will only set you back $40 - a fraction of what Lightfall would normally cost you - and then you’ll have everything you need to fully experience Destiny 2… sort of.
I hate to harp on the Destiny Content Vaul🅠t - especially when I’m ostensibly here to pitch the game to new players - but it’s important to know that even with all of this content, there’s a lot of Destiny 2 that just doesn’t exist anymore. The original campaign, the Red War, as well as the Forsaken campaign, were ‘vaulted’ several years ago, and can now only be experienced through cutscenes and lore files. Quite a few raids are also gone, and all of the seasonal storylines prior to Lightfall are gone too. This is The Story So Far with a huge asterisk, but you just have to accept that if you’re going to play Destiny 2 in 2024.
Still, the value here is unheard of. Even during a steep discount on Steam, you wouldn’t be able to get half of this content for twice the price. I’m not saying $40 is nothing, but this is low enough that it&🌱rsquo;s worth picking up even if you don’t plan on playing Destiny 2 any time soon. If you have even✤ the faintest interest in the game, you shouldn’t pass this up.
You'll also need to buy The Witch Queen dungeon key in-game for $10 in order to unlock Duality and Spire of the Watcher.
And despite all the doom and gloom around Destiny right now, it actually is a good time to start. Lightfall is now complete with the campaign and all four seasonal stories out, and we’ve got a big, four-month gap before The Final Shape launches. You could use those four months to get fully caught up on the game, and ready for the big moment when The Final Shape brings it all together. You might have missed some key moments in Destiny history, and you may never fall in love with Cayde-6 like those of us who have been here from the beginning, but this could very well be the last big moment in Desti🌌ny, and speaking as someone who has gotten to be there for all the big moments, it’s a special thing to be part of - especially for only $40.
