While re-releases aren’t always the most exciting launch titles, the three games Sega invited me to take a look at last week all have something unique to offer Switch 2 early adopters. They aren’t going to be system sellers like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mario Kart World or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Donkey Kong Bananza, but will be great additions to y🌜our early Switch 2 library that, if nothing else, each have a ton of content to help you make use of that shiny new Switch﷽ 2 screen.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut

Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Red Light Raid

Bringing the prequel to the Like A Dragon series to the Switch 2 at lꦏaunch is a smart move by Sega and RGG, made even smarter because the Director’s Cut version is a Switch 2 exclusive. The game continues to be most fans’ preferred jumping-on points for the series, and the portability of the Switch 2 makes this the best way to play this lengthy action RPG.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut adds English voiceover to the game for the first time, as well as French, Italian, German, and Spanish subtitles. If you enjoy Matt Mercer’s performance as Goro Majima in the Like a Dragon games, you’ll get a lot more of it he🎃re at the start of Majima’s story.

There are brand new cutscenes in t🎐he director’s cut said to “”. I know some Yakuza fans that will replay all 100 ꦏhours just to get ten more minutes of cutscenes.

The big new feature in Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is the Red Light Raid: an online multiplayer battle tower featuring 60 playable characters. I sp🤪ent most of my time in this mode, and I was impressed by how different each chara🅘cter feels, and how difficult the higher tier challenges can be.

There are six different challenge missions, each set in a different location with a different number of stages you’ll need to complete. The more stages a challenge has, the harder it is to maintain yours and your teammates health bars. Yakuza 0 looks like a button masher, but when every health point counts, y🔥ou quickly learn how to play to your characters’ strengths. The combat feels a little dated, as most ten year old games do, but Red Light Raid is packed with fan service and just enough progre✱ssion to make it easy to keep coming back for more.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army

Raidou_Kuzunoha Rapture_NSW2 Screen

The original title for this game was a bit of a mouthful: Devil Summon♕er: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army. It’s the third Devil Summoner (a spin-off of Megami Tensei) that was a PlayStation 2 exclusive developed by Atlus and released in 2006, so if you haven’t heard of it, you aren’t alone.

This was my first time playing Raidou, and I found it to be very 2006, but in a charming, nostalgic way. You play a high scꦡhool detective-turned-devil summoner who collects demons like P𝔉okemon and uses them to fend off otherworldly threats around Tokyo. Unlike the previous Devil Summoner games, Raidou has an interesting real-time combat that reminds me a bit of Guardians of the Galaxy in the way you command your demons to assist you.

Sega is running a promotion for Raidou Remastered. If you sign up for a Sega account between June 19 and June 31, you’ll get the Survival 🌄Pack Light Gear DLC for free.

In the short section I played, I got to explore Tokyo and use my detective-demon skills to help people in distress. Encountering a dog stuck on the roof of a building, I summoned a scantily clad incubus to fly up and retrieve him. It was a little embarrassing being followed around by a half-naked demon, but on trying to swap her out, I discovered that all of the demons look like little pervs and weirdos - and I say that with full compliments to the ar🤪tists.

It’s easy to be cynical in the era of remakes and remasters, but this is the kind of game that ought to be r♊esurrected on modern platforms, rather than trapped f♔orever on the PS2. It’s fun to look back at the history of Atlus’ RPGs and see that elements from Metaphor and Persona that have been there all along.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S

puyopuyotetris2s-screenshot-mouse

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 first released back in 2020, and, as the very nice PR rep told my pla👍y group during his introduction spiel, “The really exciting thing about this one is that it’s only $40!”

Every Nintendo handheld needs to launch with a puzzle game, so🃏 I’m glad to see a (somewhat) new installment in the Puyo Puyo Tetris series. The big new feature is Versus Mode in Doubles, which lets two teams of two go head to head on either Puyo Puyo, Tetris, or both. Sharing a Tetris board with another player takes a lot of either coordination or acceptance that chaos is inevitable, and I actually had a lot of fun yelling “FLIP THE Z! FLIP IT!!” at my partner.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S also supports mouse mode, which I can’t really recommend. I think mouse mode is great, and it opens the door for a lot of cool new ways to play the Switch, but you don’t need a mouse to slide a tetromino back and forth. The Tetris muscle memory is deeply ingrained in all of us, this is jus🤪t something new for the sake of being new.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Game Key Card controversy aside, this is a pretty decent offering from Sega as far as launch titles go, w༺ith some big new games coming in the near future. A Switch 2-exclusive version of Yakuza 0 with new cutscenes is going to get a lot of people excited, and I can see myself finally getting invested in the lengthy series now that I can play it on the airplane/toilet/airplane toilet. I’d say the same for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, but I don’t think my friends will be able to fit in that tiny stall with me.
