168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo fans have long awaited the day that the games would be ported to PC. Now that it's here, it's only proper to set the record straight on which maps are the most memorable and fun. Disclaimer: this list does not consider 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo maps from a competitive standpoint, instead taking a more casual approach. availability, map aesthetics, sightli🀅nes, and nostalgia were all taken into account in the rating of these maps.
Ultimately, however, these ratings do come down to a matter of personal opinion. More than anything, I've organized the list from top to bottom based on how much fun I've had playing on each map. Sadly, there will be no forge world maps mentioned in this list. While the map playlists mention forge world as being included, I personally have yet to play on one. As a result🧜, none of them will be featured here. Without that being said, here are the best maps to frag on.
10 Zealot
The triple-t🥃iered lift heavy layout of Zeal꧒ot always left a sour taste in my mouth. Simply moving from one place to another on the map would often put you in the sightlines of multiple enemies. Taking the lifts to traverse one level to the next was veritably the same as turning yourself into a clay pigeon. Beyond that, the covenant heavy weapon availability left much to be desired. You may also remember the infamous space zone. A common strategy on this map was to take an early lead and then have your entire team camp the space area. The only way up was a lift that, as mentioned before, made you into a prime target for your enemies lurking above. A little too exploitable for my taste.
9 Spire
The true home of the big team battle and invasion game modes in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo: Reach. Spire may have been directly taken from a campaign mission, but the map is tons of fun nonetheless. It has just about every single weapon and vehicle in the game to offer, including some powerful and rarely seen options such as the fuel rod gun and spartan laser. The map is especially cool to play on invasion, as its layout lends itself to feeling like a true mission to take control of the enormous covenant tower. Though it comes in at number nine, Spire is one of the most immersiv🧔e maps on this list.
8 Anchor: 9
This is a very small map which would normally lend it to my kind of playstyle, short-range and heavy melee being favored. However, I dislike the layout due to how wide open the two lanes on either side of the map are. In order to c🃏ros🐠s from one side to the other, you have to run through one of these wide-open areas becoming an easy target for any players sitting in the corners or side rooms. The few places to hide can be easily grenaded, forcing you back out into the open. Despite being a small map, I feel Anchor:9 is more enjoyable for someone who prefers to sit back at medium range.
7 Penance
This is a very quirky map with little to no sightlines and an almost labyrinthian room distribution. Often, you won't see a player un☂til you turn a corner and they are within melee range. This plays to my personal strengths, yet I would describe Penance as an easi🦂ly forgettable map in the greater scheme of things.
It's awkward and obtuse 𒁃and leaves you feeling like a mouse in a maze. The infection game mode is a lot of fun here though as it truly gives off a survival horror vibe with its confusing layout, strange shapes, and long corridors.
6 Countdown
Like Zealot, Countdown features many lifts. Unlike Zealot, there are other easily identifiable pathways that lend you access to the upper levels. I really enjoy Countdown due to the way the weapons are distributed throughout the map. Each of them sits in a location that leads to interesting battles over which player or team will end up with the weapon in their hands. The energy sword is in the middle of a wide-open bridge, the shotgun is between three lifts in a ventilation room, ཧand the concussion rifle is at the end of a balcony that has four entrances.
5 Breakneck
Breakneck is a remake of the memorable map Headlong all the way back in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo 2. It may be my rose-tinted goggl🍎es that led me to put this map on the list, but playing on breakneck really brings me back to the good old days. When I load into this map, I remember the console get-togethers my friends and I used to have when we were young boys. If I close ﷺmy eyes, I can still hear the accusations of screen peaking from shrill prepubescent voices. Breakneck is a great map for big team battle as well as point control variants.
4 ♔ 𒁃 Powerhouse
What a great map for Infection. Oftenඣ, the game mode falls short due to players positioning themselves in places that are hard to reach and require the zombies to become sitting ducks. However, Powerhouse does not feature any such exploitative positions, rightly putting the fear of a horde of zombies into the players. Powerhouse also features some interesting sightlines and is a lot of fun while playing Team Snipers or Team SWAT. Lastly, the seldom-seen gravity hammer is present here which can make for some hilarious hijinks.
3 Reflection 🌟
Reflection is another remake of a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo 2 map, in this case, Ivory Tower. It's got all of the most iconic weapons including the rocket launcher, sniper rifle, shotgun, energy sword, and needler. And the layout lends itself to anyone's playstyle, whether you prefer long, medium, or short-range combat. It's also j🍒ust beautiful to look at, with flowing water, a zen garden, koi ponds, and the rocket launcher waterfall.
Most of my great memories from this map stem from the combination of ca꧅mouflage, a sword or shotgun, and hanging around the slow-moving lift. I don't usually support a camping playstyle, but for this map, I makꦚe an exception.
2 Sword Base꧅
This is one of those maps you either hate with every ounce of your being or remember with a loving fondness. Unlike most 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo maps, it's enjoyable on just about all of the zany game variants. My personal favorite weapons, the shotgun and energy sword, are also super deadly here. Just as well, the sightlines present from the openings into each floor are unique in comparison to other maps and make for a truly memorable layout. This is the newly introduced map from Halo: Reach that has always stuck with me. When I think of Reach, I c൲an't help but think of Sword B꧋ase. The two are one and the same in my mind, and that's why it comes in at second place.
1 Battle👍 Ca🦋nyon (Battle Creek)
When I think of Reach, I think of Sword Base. But when I think of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo, the one map that will always steal the show is Battle Creek from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Combat Evolved. It was also remade in Halo 2 and renamed Beaver Creek, and was finally remade once more for Reach and renamed again to Battle Canyon. This map has been around since the genesis of the Halo series and with good reason. It's extremely small, has teleporters that can instantly transport you to either end of the map, features sniping coves on both sides, and has the rocket launcher precariously placed atop a ledge at the center of the map. Like Reflection, it also gives you access to all of the best weapons. Maybe I'm just a glutton for nostalgia, but Battle Canyon and its predecessors are synonymous with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo brand. As much 🐓a dynamic duo as eggs and bacon﷽, peanut butter and jelly, or beer and pizza.
