The Banished have migrated into the primary timeline of the Halo universe as the next big opposing force in the franchise. Recent trailers for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Infinite give a bit of exposition regarding what kind of a role they're going to 🧸play in ev🌜ents yet to unfold.
Since the Banished have largely remained on sidelines as the antagonists of Halo Wars 2, many fans might require a dossier of intel on what we know of this foe, and how their story will fit into the greater narrative. Here are a few facts and important bits of trivia about the Banished that will get every Halo fan up to speed in time for the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:holiday season release of Halo Infinite.
10 They Are A Splinter Group 🌠
Essentially, the Banished are nothing more than a👍 faction that broke away from the Covenant and formed their own movement, making them similar 🐓in many respects to the religious order they once adhered to.
With their own separate agenda, the Banished have nothing to do with Covenant values or ideals, but that doesn't make them friendly to UNSC forces, or humanity as a whole. As is often the case with religious splinter groups, t💯hey ta൩ke on a fundamentalist ideology all their own.
9 🙈 Their Composition ﷽
Primary Banished forces consist of Jiralhana꧃e (Brutes), Unggoy (Grunts), Huragok (Engineers), Mgalekgolo (Hunters) and Sangheili (Elites), making them identical in many ways to the traditional Covenant.
Aside from inviting other races (including humans) into their midst, the only true difference between the two factions lies in overall ideology. They have also been shown to be sympathetic to Forerunner goals as well, which is certain to play into the events of Halo Infinite.
8 The History of Atriox 🌸
The recent gameplay trailer for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Infinite features the Banished talking about Atriox, the rebellious Jiralhanae warrior who inspired the movement which eventually led to their rise as𒐪 a separate faction.
When the Human/Covenant war was in full swing, Atriox found himself continuously deposited into 40-person teams which were subsequently (and repeatedly) wiped out, leaving him alone as the sole survivor. Fearing a revolt, the Covenant devised a p🎶lan to send him to his death, which backfired. In retaliation, Atriox rebelled shortly before the Great Schism between the Covenant and the Elites.
7 ꦏ They Recruit, Rather Than Dominate
One of Atriox's guiding principles is his insistence that members join of their own free will, rather than be subjugated. He demonstrated this by killing a Covenant ♍scientist named Sig Raan, who was working on a mind-control 🍨device that could have been used to indoctrinate new followers.
A campaign of raids against Covenant forces was yet another opportunity to all🦋ow would-be adversaries to switch sides and join the Banished in their cause, thereby swelling their ranks. Atriox's charisma was so strong that he even managed to convince a Covenant special ops unit called Silent Shadow to defect.
6 ꧋ They Will Work With Humans
The Banished are no friend of the UNSC, but that doesn't mean they won't ally themselves with humans who might be sympathetic to their cause. In the post-war era, A𒈔triox led a campaign to increa♎se numbers by setting up connections within the criminal underworld.
Humans were more than welcome to join up if they so chose, especialꦫly those who had no particular allegiance to the human government or its influence. To Atriox, the cause was more important than internal poli⭕tics.
5 Covenant In Appearan🔥ce
The Banished re-pu✤rpose Covenant assets to use in their own campaign, pa꧅inting and modifying them to match their official colors. They have also been known to acquire and use Forerunner technology as well.
Most of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the vehicles and we🥃apons used in the Human-Covenant war are still utilized by Banished forces, including Ghosts, Scarabs, Wraiths, and Phantoms. They also utilize a Covenant CAS-class assault carrier known as the Enduring Conviction - a fla♛gship for Banished forces.
4 🃏 The Mark of Atriox ✅
The Banished fly a particular identifying symbol known as the Mark of Atriox, which is heavily symbolic within th🔯eir internal culture. The mark itself is based on the mace Atriox wields in battle, which is known as Chainbreaker. This weapon is a fusion of parts from a conventional Type-2 Gravity Hammer, customized for more destructive power.
The mark itself is meant to represent freedom from oppression (ie: the Covenant) and the reclaiming of power to forge a new destiny out of the ashes of the old. It may also have certain overtones the Jiralhanae's self-asserted s⛄♒uperiority over the other species.
3 The ꦰLegacy of Decimus
Decimus was widely regarded as Atriox's right-hand man, and his battle prowess and brutality were more than enough to turn the Banished into a major threat. After watc♊hing Atriox defy a Covenant execution order by killing his own executioner, Decimus pledged himself in service.
Decimus would not last long in the Banished, being killed durinꦉg a battle with human forces on board the Ark. Throughout his brief tenure as꧒ second in command, he did much to increase the notoriety of the Banished.
2 🍃 ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ War Chief Escharum
Fans got their first glimpse of a major antagonist in the recently released Halo Infinite trailers and gameplay demos in the form of War Chief Escharum. This high-ranking Banished officer seems to be the principal baddie of the game, as he makes references to honoring Atriox (who may or may not be dead) while taunting 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Master Chief directly.
He also mentions the acquisition of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a Halo Ring, as well as plans to take control of the Auditorium. It remains to be seen what the Auditorium is, but given similar titles bestowed upon other Forerunner installations, it can't mean anything good. Escharum himself will no doubt get 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fleshed out in the actual game. As it stands, very little is known about him, other than his♌ creed.
1 Their End☂ Goal
No one truly knows the goals of the Banished, or what they wish to accomplish. So far, their true motives have been largely obscured. During Atriox's rise to prominence, he himself says that the Banished have rejected the Covenant and their false religion in favor of something new - something he would decide.
The latest trailer for Halo Infinite suggests that the Banished have allied themselves with the goals of the Harbinger (possibly a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:reference to Cortana), whi🐻ch would represent a major threat to humanity in the wake of the Human-Covenant war, and the foiling of the Ur-Didact's plans. How it plays out has yet to be revealed, but with a Halo rin🧸g already under their control, the Banished certainly aren't playing games!
