The Phantom is a bloodthirsty vampire-like mini-boss. When you enter the boss's room, it's accompanied by more than ten Blight Shade enemies. These small minions ꧒do not spawn once you have killed them all.
Phantom Location
You can find the Phantom in the Fields of Mourning biome. This biome has two mini-bosses, and you will either face Queen Lamia or the Phantom when you enter a mini-boss arena.
If you see a skull on the door beneath a Boon's icon, it means the next arena you enter will be a boss fight. Mini-boss fights are not forced encounters, and you can always choose any other door to proceed toward reaching the final boss of a partꩲicular biome.
Sometimes, both doors can lead to boss rooms, but this happe💎ns rarely. In this situation, there is no op🎃tion but to face the mini-boss awaiting you.
How To Beat The Phantom
The first step to beat the Phantom is to clear the room by killing all the Blight Shade enemies. It wil💝l make focusing on the Phantom much easier and dodging its attacks a breeze.
With each attack, the Phantom steals some of Melinoe's life. The Health Drain attack, in particular, dazes Melinoe, takes away most of her health, and replenishes the boss's vitality in exchange.
Try to stay at medium to long range and do not get hit. If you do, the Phantom gets its health back, undoing all yo🎃ur hard work.
Almost all the Phantom's attacks are not swift and sudden. There is a small charging animation that is easy to spot and dodge before the Phantom lands an attack on you.
Ranged weapons such as Umbral Flames will make the boss fight easier as you get to hit the Phantom from a distance.
However, the Moonstone Axe is often better for this encounter. This weapon hits hard, has a small AoE, and the final swipe attack also comes with splash damage. The Omega Attack sends Melinoe spinning in a whirlwind, which you can use to deal maximum damage, especially since the Phantom is vulnerable from the back for a few seconds after unleashing its🔜 Health Drain attack.
Avoid getting hit by the Phantom's attacks, and maintain distance after dealing a few st🐟rikes and the Phantom will be defeated in a couple of minutes.
