Base Building Tips For Grounded

Wherever you decide to build, there are a few things to remember to make your life a bit easier. You can check꧋ out our beginner tips list for more info.

• Ants will eat your food if it's left on the ground. Either build high up away from ants or place down shelves so your food remains safe.
• Analyze every item you can at a research station. This will help you craft more advanced building materials.
• Experiment with the different building materials in the game. Grass and Stem are the most common building materials in the early game, but there's a lot more to choose from.
• Build furniture to increase your coziness level and unlock more household objects to craft.

The Oak Fence area can quickly scare you away, as it is infested with spider nests. If you're a brave soul who sees a good opportunity, you'll realize it is an optimal location for a base.

One could argue other locations offer similar benefits and fewer risks, but what's life without a little adventure? Building a base on the Oak Fence is best if you want to access some rarer loot and parts at the cost of being surrounded by danger on all fronts.

11 🌳 The Bird Bath

Grounded is focused on shifting your perspective and allowing you to see things from a different angle. Th🌜e Bird Bath is a location that offers access to water an🌺d berries but can also provide a perch to survey your surroundings.

It is located in the southeast section of the map, right before you enter the brush of the Hedge. F𝓡or those looking to build a castle-like structure, the Bird Bath base is a great foundation for a high-fantasy tower.

10 💯 Flat Large Stone

Brainstorming Grounded base ideas wouldn't be so tough if the geography of the yard wasn't incredibly uneven, but there are some options. If you're looking for one of the best base locations in Grounded, head to the group of large rocks in the northwest of the map; you'll find a massive stone you can build upon.

This amount of flat space can't be found anywhere else on the Grounded map but comes at the cost of being a long distance from the main research facility. However, since it's above the ground, you'll have zero worries about insects invading your space.

9 ꦛ The Reliable Baseball ꦏ

One of the first major landmarks you'll discover, the baseball provides a very large, relatively flat surface for building on. During the early game, some of your biggest worries will be insect attacks from swarms of ants, especially if you accidentally anger them by killing too many.

Building on top of the baseball offers the advantage of height and plenty of resources nearby, including one of the large juice boxes for a reliable source of water droplets iꦇn the early 🧜game.

It's also close to the first Field Station, ideal for analyzing items at the beginning of the game. Because the baseball only has one access route, the large stem that leads up to it, it's quite easy to get to but also suitable for defending against insect attacks.

8 ꧃ South Of The Mysterious Machine

Probably one of the most highly recommended Grounded base locations is just south of the Mysterious Machine. There's a large raised area surrounded by a rocky cliff – ideal for a starter base or for a large base that will last into the mid-game.

Centrally located near the spawn point and safe from most of the aggressive creatures on the map, this area has everything you need to survive, including a nearby juice box. All you need to do is clear out the various grass stems, and you'll have plenty of room to build.

7 ൲ Close To The Oak Tree

Just to the side of the Oak Tree is a wooden fence providing one of Grounded's best base locations. You're close to BURG.L, the friendly robot from whom you'll get your quests, and you'll find both a can and a juice box for plenty of water in the early game.

While not quite tucked in the corner, this spot is easy to scout from and presents plenty of advantages when defending your base.

However, this location is difficult to reach from the rest of the map, so you should invest some time building zip lines that can easily transport you to and from this small coffee table. While your other Grounde✃d base loca🍌tions will factor into the decision, try to build a connection from here to the middle area of the map for optimal coverage.

4 Patio

Building a base is even easier in a location with natural walls that✅ form most of the structure. The Patio allows you to b🌱uild on it and focus primarily on safety and structure rather than worrying about constructing the foundation from scratch.

The Patio is one of Grounded's best base locations if you want a bird's eye view of your surroundings.

The shaded patio area at the southern part of the map provides this setup and has multiple corners for multiplayer possibilities. It is near both mushrooms and dandelions, of which th🌠e former can be an excellent source of sustenance, while the latter is an invaluable material for buꦗilding walls and frames.

3 ꦍ By The Cas🦩sette Tape

The Cassette Tape is an alternative option if you don't want to commit to a camp too far to one corner of the map, as this location is fairly central. You're close to the Haze in the south and only a quick jog away from the Sandbox area that houses plenty of bugs and loot.

The tape is a perfect ramp that leads to the collection of flat stones; these act as a staging area to build your base. You can gain a heigh🦩t advantage by using the flat rocks, making it easier to protect your base, while the plethora of dry and fresh grass nearby opens the door to various building styles.
