168澳洲幸运5开奖网:GoldenEye 007 is known for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:revolutionizing the console FPS genre, showing how to use a license properly, and those great Bond characters. While they may not be as memorable as Mario characters, most kids of the '90s had a favorite character they liked to use in multiplayer.
Rare added some classic Bond villains from the classic era of the series while also having the regular cast of GoldenEye in the game since the game closely followed the movie's plot. The graphics aren't spectacular, but you can still make out the characters if you squint a little.
9 Oddjob
How would Oddjob not make this list? GoldenEye 007's multiplayer was great, but Oddjob was the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:unofficial cheat code that allowed whoever played as him to be harder to hit. His shorter stature and GoldenEye's less-than-agile controls made him the scorn of many N64 gamers back in the day.
Still, he gets style points for being a cool 1960s Bond villain. Fans of the series greatly appreciated Rare's effort to include some nuggets 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:from Bond's past. While cool, we wouldn't want anyone to think he is somebody you should pick while playing multiplayer.
8 Boris
We're happy that Rare managed to put Boris in the game. He stood out in the movie but could have been quickly forgotten in the N64 video game since he wasn't in the action scenes. However, Boris made it into the game and interacted with Bond during missions.
If you're a fan of the series and see his square, low-poly character pop on the screen, you can't help but chuckle because this is the guy that got frozen after screaming, "I am invincible," and blew up Janus' headquarters because he didn't know he was using a grenade pen.
7 Xenia
Known as one of the most memorable Bond villains of all time, it's no surprise that Xenia made the game. They toned down the R-rated-ness of her character for the N64, but she does make for a good boss at the jungle level.
It is a shame; however, they couldn't somehow shoe-horn in the helicopter kill from the movies into how you ultimately defeat Xenia. We wouldn't mind seeing her more through the levels since she played a fairly prominent role in the film, but she is just Trevelyan's sidekick in the video game.
6 Dr. Doak
Who can forget Dr. Doak. It's perhaps the first time we realized that in-game characters could serve mission objectives without shooting at or running away from you. In reality, this Facility scientist was the game's head designer and, by all accounts, a pretty remarkable guy.
Rare designers used their faces in the game as side characters, and it's cool seeing one of the main programmers be a prominent NPC in the game.
5 Bond
For many of us that grew up in the 1990s, Pierce Brosnan was James Bond. This is much like Sean Connery is James Bond to an older generation. There's also probably some Timothy Dalton fan out there in his basement who spends his entire day on Bond forums.
Bond in GoldenEye, the movie was cool because Brosnan was cool, and the same goes for the video game. Despite low-res graphics, Rare captured Brosnan's likeness fairly well - if you're into boxy heads and N64 blurry textures. It works, though, and many of us unoriginal people would always play as Bond in the multiplayer levels.
4 Ourumov
Despite not being the main villain, General Ourumov gets a lot of screen time in GoldenEye 007. Whether it's hunting down 006 in the Facility level or holding Natalya hostage in the train level - he matches up pretty well with his movie companion.
Is he a second-rate henchman that gets what he deserves? Sure. Gottfried John, who plays him in the movie, does a fantastic job portraying a guy for whom everything goes wrong, and♚ for some reason that translates well over to ඣthe N64.
3 Natalya
Replaying this game many years later, you might have been dreading the parts where you're supposed to escort Natalya. Having been through some horrible escort missions 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:due to bad AI in modern games, most would assume that a 1997 N64 game had to be hell on Earth. But it wasn't.
Rare does a good job making the escorting of Natalya easier than you would think. The AI isn't given too many opportunities to mess up completely.
2 Jaws
While only seen in the Aztec Complex and multiplayer, Jaws is a fan favorite for Bond fans. Jaws showed up in two Bond films in the 1970s, so he gives a bit more retro feel to the Golden🍷Eye 007 game. In-game, he can take a lot of damage while dishing out punishment with two AR-33 rifles.
He will even take more than one shot from the Golden Gun, whereas guards will die instantly. Jaws is such a memorable Bond villain, with his height and bladed teeth; it's no wonder that Rare wanted to add him into the game despite having nothing to do with the GoldenEye film.
1 Trevelyan
This may have been the movie and video game where it became acceptable to assume that Sean Bean would die. Trevelyan starts as 006 in the game's Facility level and then becomes the leader of the Janus Crime Syndicate. The boss battle with him at the end of the game is one of the most memorable, since it occurs on a satellite dish cradle.
After major roles in The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, it's tough not to immediately recognize Sean Bean's mug in the game. We're not saying modders should add a Game of Throne's level into GoldenEye 007; we're begging for it.
