Lyney is the firsꩵt playable character hailing from Fontaine, and here's everything you need to know if you're planning to build him.

He's a five-star Hydro DPS character relying on his special Charged Attack for most of his damage. His Skill and Ultimate can generate droplets that help him heal the HP lost during ꦯthe Charged Attack. With the correct build, Neuvillette can easily be one of your strongest DPS characters.

Updated November 8, 2023: We've added a video version of this guide to help you build an even more powerful Neuvillette.

Best DPS Build For Neuvillette

Genshin Impact Neuvillette Walking in Darkness.
  • Weapons - , ,
  • Artifact Sets - Wanderer's Troupe, Heart of Depth, Marechaussee Hunter

While being one of the most fun characters to use in Genshin Impact, Neuvillette's play style is also a little limited since his Skill and Ultimate only deal a small burst of damage. The only way you can get value out of this character is by making him the main DPS of the team where ꦡhe stays on th🌼e field most of the time.

Moreover, Neuvillette has a special Charged Attack that requires you to hold it for quite a long time. If you stop pressing the button before the seal is created, he'll just do a small Charged Attack that barely deals any damage. Once the seal is formed completely, Neuvillette lets out a beam of🌌 water in a straight line.

You can change the direction of this beam both horizontally and vertically simply by moving your screen.

This charging time can be reduced if he consumes the nearby droplets created by his Skill or Burst. At Constellation Zero, Neuvillette creates three droplets from his Skill and six from his Burst. You can only consume three droplets for each Charg൲ed Attack and the droplets stay on the battle𓃲field for 15 seconds after spawning.

To get the most use out of this kit, you can use any one of the Artifact sets mentioned above. You can choose the set you want depending on the play style, and here's how they help his kit:

Wanderer's Troupe

Increases your Elemental Mastery and Charged Attack DMG. This can be used if you're planning to put Neuvillette with damage-dealing reactions like Electro-Charged or Vaporize.

Heart of Depth

This gives him a 15 percent Hydro DMG Bonus while also increasing your Charged Attack DMG by 30 percent a🌳fter using your Skill, which is perfect f♎or Neuvillette.

Marechaussee Hunter

This set essentially gives Neuvillette a free 36 percent Crit Rate apart from the Charged Attack DMG. Since ꦗhe already gets extra Crit DMG from ascension, this can help him get quite a good Crit Ratio.

Once you've selected the four-piece bonus that you want from the Artifact set, the next step is to choose his weapon. Of course, Neuvillette's signature weapon will work the best for him since 🔜it's designed according to his kit specifically. However, you don't need that weapon since he already h♔as a strong free-to-play option.

Prototype Amber is a four-star craftable weapon that you most likely already have on Refinement Five if you've been playing the game for a while. This weapon scales on HP and gives youꦅ extra Energy whenever you use yoཧur Elemental Burst. This is perfect for Neuvillette since it allows you to get the Burst back much faster.

The Burst cost for Neuvillette is only 70, and you can regenerate 18 of it with this weapon at Refinement Five.

Finally, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Wind can also be a decent weapon for him. This is a five-star weapon, but you can always get it on the Standard Banner as well. It gives him an increased movement SPD and Elemental DMG as long as he stays in battle. Moreover, it gives you another 33 percent Crit Rate as🐻 the🌳 secondary stat.

Artifact Stat Priority For Neuvillette

Genshin Impact Neuvillette Artifact Screen

Getting the correct set bonus isn't enough for Neuvillette since the main and sub-stats for each Artifact can change his damage monumentally as well. Each artifact has one main stat and up t🥂o four sub-stats if they're a four-star or five-star piece. Here are all the stats that you should look for when it comes to Neuvillette:

Artifact Type

Main Stat Priority

Sub-Stat Priority

Flower

HP (guaranteed)

Crit🉐 Rate/DMG > HP Percent > Energy Recharge

Feather

ATK (guaranteed)

Crit Rate/DMG > HP Percent > Energy Rechaღrge

Sands

HP Percent

Crit Rate/DMG > Energy Re♈charge > Elemental Mastery

Goblet

Hydro DMG Bonus

Crit Rate/DMG > HP Percent 🌸> Energy Recharge

Circlet

Crit DMG/Rate

Crit Rate/DMG > HP Percent > Energy Recharg🔯e

You'd only want a Crit Rate Circlet on Neuvillette if you're not using the Marechaussee set or Lost Prayer to the Sacred Wind.

Energy Recharge can be quite an important sub-stat for Neuvillette since you'll be able to dish out constant attacks with him as long as your Burst has a good uptime. Moreover, he has a passive where you'd want to trigger three different Hydro reactions with the character. 🐷This prevents you from using a Hydro battery with him.

Neuvillette Talent Priority

Genshin Impact Neuvillette Talent Screen

Genshin Impact does a great job at keeping a character's talent screen quite straightforward. You'll find up to five talents on this screen, but you only have to upgrade three of them while the other three get unlocked with ascensions. Out of the three active talents, you'd always want to upgrade Neuviꦡlle🌳tte's Normal Attacks first.

This is quite a straightforward choice since his Charged Attacks scale with your Normal Attack talent. After that, you can upgrade his Skill and Burst in any order. Skill's damage is lower than the Burst, but you'll also be using it more of♌ten.

Is It Worth Getting Neuvillette?

Genshin Impact Neuvillette Back Angle

Whenever a new five-star gets released in Genshin Impact, the first question from every free-to-play or low-spending player is if the character is worth getting. You can only get a limited number of Primogems in every update, so it's important to decide which character will be better for your account overall.

First and foremost, if you like Neuvillette's personality and think that his play style is fun, you should absolutely go for it. Even when it comes to strength, Neuvillette easily 🍰beats most of the other Hydro DPS characters. If you're lacking a damage dealer from this element, it's highly recommended to pull for him.
