In many ways, it is THE definitive video game handshake, and it's been faithfully recreated for the box art of the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.
Now, it looks like we'll be able to add another signature handshake to the list of all-time iconics list. That's because, in a new Fortnite trailer,ဣ Jonesy and Cyclops have recreated that handshake as part ♔of . The end result is a handshake for the ages, featuring arguably the most popular game of this generation, along with a pop culture staple in Cyclops.

Jonesy Isn't Ryu, But It's Just As Iconic
Fortnite's Chapter 5, Season 4 will be an extremely Marvel-focused event, with it being titled "Absolute Doom." Classic Marvel characters are joining the fold, like Black Panther and War Machine, alongside the X-Men,ཧ including the aforementioned Cyclops, as well as Colossus and Jubilee. Even Fortnite staples have gotten the Marvel treatment, with Peelverine and Jonesy as Captain Aဣmerica being showc💝ased.

Because of the impending doom (see what we did there) created by Doctor Doom, those Marvel luminaries will join forces in the Fortnite world to put a stop to things. And that's where the recreation of the iconic handshake comes from.
It should be noted that Forℱtnite has already had a Street Fighter collaboration in the past, with Ryu and Chun-Li joining the video game metaverse. That was a few years ago, though.
It remains to be seen if the handshake is an actual in-game emote, or is simply part of the trailer reveal. And if it is an actual emote, then how cool would it be to recreate it in-game with Ryu? The new chapter kicks off on August 16, so it won't be too long before we find out. Until then, we have another addition to the list of iconic handshakes.
