Gaming’s 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Guitar Hero and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rock Band era is experiencing a revival thanks to Fortnite Festival, itself created by Rock Band devs Harmonix under Epic’s banner. There still aren’t many options to play the game in a more traditio🃏nal way, at least not affordable ones, which is why CRKD has come up with a new version of its NEO S controller that’s officially tied to Fortnite Festiva𒆙l.
When CRKD 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:revealed its bespoke Fortnite Festiv🉐al controller, I was immediately reminded of Guitar Hero: On Tour, not to be confuse🍃d with Guitar Hero: World Tour. On Tour was𓆉 a handheld installment in the series that came bundled with a five-fret peripheral that plugged into the DS’s GBA slot.
A New Way To Play Inspired By Controllers From The Past
Go Full Guitar Hold It Upside Down And Tap Away At Its Frets
As innovative ✱an idea as it was, my dominant memory of that game is how much it wo🌱uld hurt my hand if I played more than a few songs at a time. Having now taken the Fortnite Festival NEO S for a spin, I’m pleased to confirm that while it helps the game it’s affiliated with further reincarnate that Guitar Hero feel, it hasn’t also revived the unwanted hand cramps.

ATOM C🃏ontroller Review: The Perfect Retro Gaming Keychain Companion
Turns out CRKD's tiny new co🔯ntroller is more than just a novelty item.
Don’t get me wrong, when holding the 5-Fret NEO S like you would the On Tour attachment, my hand did start to cramp up a little a few tracks in. The beauty of CRKD’s☂ answer to rhythm game peripherals, however, is that it doesn’t need to be held like that. If anything, I’d♌ advise against it.
The best way to play when using CRKD’s new controller is by holding it upside-down and tapping away at its five frets with both hands. I was a lot better at hitting the right notes at the right time, and 𓆉the pain took much longer to appear. Plus, those cramps only came when I tried to up the difficulty a little too much (skill issue, I know) and played for a lot longer without a break than I probably should have.
You might think holding the controller more like a controller than a guitar kind of defeats the purpose, and you’d be right. Well, half right. Having frets to use is still a step up from relying on the face and shoulder buttons, and the controller also has expert and pro modes that add strumming and the whammy bar to the mi🐬x if you want to retain more of that Guitar Hero feel. Or, you know, you could just use it one-handed and feel a little less comfortable. Don’t let me stop you.
The controller also has back buttons for activating overdrive - the best way of doing so I’ꩵve ever experienced as buttons on other contro𝓡llers are often awkwardly placed, and even the traditional tip of the guitar would often distract me enough to break my note streak.
It wasn’t until I turned the controller upside down and began to use it this way that I realized that’s the experience I want from Fortnite Festival. A game where I can grab a controller and quickl⛦y jump in to play a few songs. If I want to settle in for the evening and play a whole setlist, that’s when it’s time for Rock Band 4 and a full-size guitar controller.
Check Your Settings, Every Time
Learn From My Mistakes
The one drawback I experienced while using the controller was the fault of Fortnite Festival, not its NEO S. You’ll need to make sure the layout is set to Thumbs before you start playing. This can be done in Fortnite’s settings on PC, but you’ll need to talk to the NPC in the Fortnite Festival lobby to change that on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo Switch.
That wasn’t the problem. It was the settings reverting to custom every time I left and came ba💦ck. I was very c✤onfused using the controller a second time when none of the frets were responding. It only takes a few seconds to make sure you’re using the right layout, just make sure to check every time you hop back into the game.
If you’ve used a CRKD product before you’ll know that, like all of its controllers, the Fortnite Festival NEO S’s layout can be customized to your 💝liking through its app. If this will be your first CRKD controller, the company has a companion app through which you can customize its layout. Buttons can be bound to different commands once the controller is paired with the app so if something doesn’t feel quite right, you 🌳can change it so the experience suits you.
It🃏’s also very easy to cycle through the controller’s difficulties. It will be set to the easiest mode by defa𝐆ult - its light should glow purple to reflect that. All you need to do to cycle through them is hold all five frets at once and let go once you arrive at the desired difficulty.
The Fortnite Festival Controller Isn't Going To Replace Rock Band's Guitars
But It's A Fantastic And More Cost-Effective Alternative
Fortnite Festival’s NEO S isn’t a substitute꧙ for a full-sized guitar controller, and I don’t think it’s trying to be. It’s a big upgrade on using regular bu♑ttons for a genre of game that was never designed to be played that way, but it can’t compare to the feeling you get when using a controller that’s masquerading as a guitar.
There are two big advantages it has over guitar controllers, though. The first is the ease of use and being able to just grab it quickly to play a few songs. The biggest plus, however, is its price. Even though Fortnite Festival is more than a year old, the only new guitar controller released in that time 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:is the Riffmaster. A fantastic guitar controller, but at $130, it costs more than twice as much as the ✤5-Fret NEO S, which retails at $59.99.
There is still nothing better available when it comes to guitar replica controllers than the Riffmaster. However, if you enjoy Fortnite Festival but want it to feel more immersive and better to play while paying a heck of a lot less than you would for a guitar controller, the 5-Fret NEO S is perfect. Not to mention it doesn’t take up nearly as much room and even functions as a regular controller whe🎐n not being used to play rhythm games, something that also makes navigating menus a breeze compared to regular guitar controllers.
