The latest Fortnite map has been here for a while now. The POIs have been explored, and the surrounding areas scoured with a fine tooth comb. As with other seasons and chapters, the map contains lots of little easter eggs, fun landmarks, and in-jokes for the community to find. We've seen them and marked them on our map.
Epic Games are also partial to dropping hints for future map updates and teases for the overarching storyline. This map is no different. If you look closely and check every corner, there are so many things to see, though many of these things can be missed if you're focused on cranking 90s or adding up eliminations.
10 Is T𒈔he Bus Made By IO? 🎃
While waiting on the starting island, there's not a great deal to see or do. Most people take the chance to troll each other by getting up in people's faces, while others bust out their favourite emotes. However, if you move over to the new battle bus you can spot two very cool details. The first is pretty obvious, Chapter 4 shows us the bus charging its engines and blasting off, as we've never seen before. If you wander underneath the bus though and look at the frame that holds it, you'll spot the IO crest. Does this mean the bus is made by IO? Will we see the IO operatives in this chapter?
9 The 𓆉Poor Cl♔ocktower
The clocktower has been a feature in many Fortnite seasons, often appearing in the various iterations of Tilted Towers🍬 over the years. It has been destroyed, rebuilt, and destroyed again more times than we can count.
The clocktower does make an appearance in Chapter 4 season 1, but it's tucked away in an ice cavern towards the north side of the map. As you travel up, you'll notice large holes in an icy hill. Hop into the hole, and you'll find the landmark. Though it has seen better days.
8 A Leftover 💜Cuddle ♈
Cuddle Team Leader is one of the more popular skins in Fortnite history. It's up there with Peely and Jonesy. In Chapter 3 of Fortnite, a large rollercoaster was set up on a mountain capped with Cuddle Team Leader's head. You were able to ride a Baller in and around, and it was quite the landmark. It turns out, that when this new map was built, the head came along too. If you drop in on the south-east coast, this large metal head will be hard to miss. It's quite heavily rusted and desolate, but inside you'll often find a few chests.
7 A Ritual꧒ Site?
Out in the middle of nowhere, there seems to be a site for something special. It may be a ritual site, or it could be a giant hatch. All that can be seen is a large stone platform. There are a few chests scattered around, but it's hard to know what is planned for this area. The pattern on the platform is the same as the crests and stone balls around Brutal Bastion, so it could point to whatever civilisation built the bastion and surrounding buildings. The state of this platform though shows its age, and it might have been here for a long time. Like a Zero Point would be.
6 It's Drillin' Time
If you find yourself on the east coast, near Slappy Shores, you can find an enormous relic of s🔯easons past. Back when Slone was trying to control the future of the Fortnite map, she was holed up in a huge drilling vehicle called The Fortress.
This was later trashed and covered in graffiti, once Slone moved on. But now you can rediscover the fortress driller — it's still covered in paint, and it's a great callback to a terrific past season.
5 Frogs?
There are three of these on the island, but there are no signs as to why they're here. Frog statues. The one pictured is made of ice found in the snow near Lonely Labs, however, there are stone frogs also. The statues all have a few chests close by, almost like an offering. These frogs don't appear in previous seasons and there are no hints elsewhere whether these become a 'thing' for the new season. Epic could be hinting at a new monster or a new skin, or they may be cool statues.
4 🧸 Go 🤪Team Llama!
In a bar over in Slappy Shores, you'll find all the usual trappings of a pub, but you will notice a sports team banner for the 'Llamas'. While this is a small detail that could be a throwaway motif, it could also hint at the sport of Brute Ball, which the new character Dusty is said to play. In fact, she's a champion. We may see more for team Llama in the future, but this banner could also hint at more inclusions of Rocket League, which has had a number of crossovers since Epic Games acquired the title. Either way, we're team Llama all the way.
3 What I🐻s This Platfo🙈rm?
This is too blatant to be a mistake that was accidentally left in the game. Especially as the game's most recent update didn't remove it. This platform can be seen well off the west coast, high up in the sky. Whether floating in Battle Labs or building up, you can't actually reach it. It's behind the map edge wall.
What's odd is that it has no signage or notable design, but it's also not a player structure. So what is it? Will it expand into the map in the future? Is it a quirk of the map that Epic will delete? Whatever this platform actually is, it probably won't be as interesting as what our imaginations can conjure.
2 Road🌸works Ahead
By this point, anything that Epic Games adds to Fortnite usually has a specific purpose. Unless it's filler items in a shop or house, objects and landmarks are part of a narrative or future direction. Zooming around the map, it's easy to spot lots of construction diggers and roadworks. The one in our picture here shows some roadworks moving towards a mountain, as if it may eventually tunnel through or construct a new road. We've seen similar building works in past seasons, particularly after a disaster wipes a POI from the map. As these construction areas are seen in the 'old-fashioned' zones of the map, perhaps we'll see a slow modernisation of these areas.
1 Tattoo Time ꧙ 🏅
Over in Slappy Shores you'll find a tattoo shop. Big deal, right? Well, if you spend some time in there and scan through the artwork spread across the walls, you'll spot some great new artwork, as well as some skateboard decks which have been released as Back Blings in the past. It's a treasure trove of brilliant Fortnite artwork, some in small frames, others as murals painted across the walls themselves. This chapter, so far, is a callback to past seasons and what we've experienced previously, the tattoo designs are no different.
