Fortnite Completely Defeats The Purpose Of A Ready Player One Battle Roꦉyale
We already have a Ready Player One battle royale.
We're only a week away from Chapter 5, Season 3's launch on May 24 and, as it always does, Epic Games has sent packages out to influencers and content creators to tease what we can expect to see in the game next. These teases are sometimes vague and supposed to get the community hunting (like the alien postcards from a few years ago), but this time around it's much simpler.
Fortnite's Next Season Is Called "Wrecked"
, Twitch partner and , which included a radio-controlled car an⭕d a license plate saying "Eat Nitro". He also received a lett💜er from Epic that reveals the name of Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 is "Wrecked".
It's pretty clear from the radio-controlled car and faded license plate that this season is going to have a heavier focus on vehicles than we've seen in Fortnite previously, specifically points out that Wrecked will take place in a "contested wasteland", confirming that it's going to have some Mad Max post-apocalypse vibes.
Of course, while it's nice to have confirmation about Chapter 5, Season 3's theme, it doesn't come as a big surprise to anyone who's been paying attention to Fortnite recently. Earlier this year, a roadmap for 2024 was seemingly leaked online and shared a bunch of plans for all of Fortnite's modes, including the Star Wars crossover in Lego Fortnite and Billie Eilish headlinin𓃲g Fortnite Festival.
The roadmap also showed a piece of artwork for Chapter 5, Season 3 that made it very clear that it was going to take place in a desert wasteland. While we'll have to wait and see what that ends up looking like outside of concept art, it's still pretty clear where Fortnite is heading next week.
