Shadow Briefings, Explained

There are new types of missions called Shadow Briefings in Fortnite that work similarly to the Bounty Boards. You accept the mission and then a rift will appear that brings whatever your objective is, Bounty excluded, marking it on your map.

Other players will be able to hear the Rift and see the supply drop marker on the map. You'll have to be quick to get it befor🃏e someone else does.

Depending on which mission you select, you'll either need to get to the supply drop, drive a certain distance, dig up chests, or hunt down an enemy in the provided time limit to earn the reward. You'll lose out on the benefits if you don't complete the specified objective or get the reward before someone else.

When close, you can see the symbol for which type of mission is available through walls and the 'Job Board' icon with a magnifying glass will show on your mini-map.

There are many Shadow Briefings that can spawn across Fortnite's island, but it seems as if some spawns aren't always in the same place. Due to this, it's hard to create a comprehensive list of all the locations, since they either disappear when used or just ﷽don't spawn in some matches.

Supply Drop Shadow Briefings

When you accept the supply drop briefing, you'll immediately get a visual notification on your HUD showing you where it will spawn. Since this is usually a good distance away, you should begin heading that way immediately. Similar to other supply drops, other players can see it on their mini-maps.

Unlike the Vehicle Shadow Briefing, you won't get any Gold Bars for completing this mission, with the supply drop serving as the reward. That being said, you can get weapons of up to Epic rarity, at least, and the supply drop may contain Bars.

You can find Supply Drop Shadow Briefings at and around major POIs like:

• Middle of Pleasant Piazza.
• The southern side of Classy Courts.
• The southeast side of Grim Gate.
• The gas station southwest of Lavish Lair.
• On the south side of Restored Reels, next to the vending machine.
• On the west side of Fencing Fields.

Vehicle Shadow Briefings

When you accept one of the Vehicle Shadow Briefings, a vehicle will be rifted in that you'll need to get in. Once inside, you'll need to drive for 500 meters in any direction within the time limit to earn the 100 Gold Bar reward. It will spawn a sports car, which will transform into your custom car from your Locker.

If you need a vehicle fast, the Vehicle Shadow Briefings can be great ways to spawn one without having to look very far.

The Vehicle Shadow Briefings are found along major roads, with some locations including:

• The curvy road northwest of Grand Glacier.
• On the road next to the bridge south of Classy Courts.
• The road on the east side of Reckless Railways.
• Two along the major road south of Fencing Fields.
• Along the road northeast of Lavish Lair.

Bounty Shadow Briefings

These are the same as the Bounty Boards from previous seasons. You'll be assigned a random enemy player and given their general radius on the map, only receiving the reward if you're able to defeat thꦕem.

You can find the Bounty Shadow Briefings at major POIs, including:

• Inside the center station at Reckless Railways.
• At the rest station just to the west of Reckless Railways.
• Behind the seating at Restored Reels.
• The west side of Fencing Fields.
• At the train station south of Fencing Fields.

Plunder Shadow Briefings

The Plunder Shadow Briefings bring out your inner treasure hunter and give you two Rare chests to find and dig up somewhere nearby. At the same time, you'll need to avoid enemy players and the Storm Circle to grab your rewards before someone else does.

You can find the Plunder Shadow Briefings at smaller landmarks across the map, including:

• South of Reckless Railways, east of where the road and train tracks meet
• At a building on the river east of Lavish Lair.
• In the building next to the statue of Fish Thicc east of Pleasant Piazza and off the main road.

The Plunder Shadow Briefings are much harder to find since they don't appear at major POIs and are rarely in the same place each match.
