168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fire Emblem Engage wouldn't be complete without a slew of Paralogues to tackle, and the ones offered in this game are a little different than previous entries. There are 15 Paralogues, 12 of which are tied to the Emblem Rings.

Engage is something of an homage to the﷽ entire Fire Emblem series. One way Intelligent Systems has capitalised on this is by having the majority of the Paralogues be a reference or re-imagining of a map important to each of the Emblems from their respe🌊ctive game. Here we rank each one.

15 ꧑ Buddingꦆ Talent

Fire Emblem Engage, close up of Jean, the Village of Engage

This is your first introduction to Paralogues, meaning it's one of the tamer maps. You have allies to protect, but the map layout is a simple town. No big surprises here; it's just a basic introduction with a manageable number of foes.

There are two houses to visit for various items as well. If Jean surv🍨ives the whole ꧋time, you will recruit him into your army. This happens regardless of if you speak to him during the fight. Nothing says Fire Emblem quite like a child soldier, after all.

14 Mysterious Merchant 𒊎

Fire Emblem Engage - Anna closeup during a conversation

This Paralogue introduces us to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the recurring character Anna. She's a merchant running from bandits, which will sound familiar if you've played Fire Emblem Awakening. Instead of keeping them at bay as a badass Trickster, this child version of Anna is hiding in a chest.

Thieves will eventually spring her from it. Once out, talking to Anna will recruit her then and there, and then you can put her away from combat if you want. She can take a few hits, so keeping her around is smart. It's a fun introduction to this new iteration of Anna and a great callback.

13 The Exalt

Fire Emblem Engage - Lucina talking to Alear about Ferrox Arena

Lucina's Paralogue is a considerable hike in difficulty if you take it on as soon as it's available. You might think there's not much to deal with at first glance, but you'll eat your words when a 50-plus HP Berserker or Warrior is gunning it straight towards you.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yet another callback to Awakening, you'll immediately recognise this as Arena Ferox, a place of importance for Chrom and Lucina. Overall, it's a decent introduction to the Emblem Paralogues since it's kept basic. This isn't the case as you unlock more.

12 ⛎ The Caring Princess 👍

Fire emblem engage - celica in her paralogue

The Paralogue for Celica is recognisable as the Seabound Shrine dungeon from Echoes, guarded by nasty Necrodragons. This map is a bit bigger than the one it's based on, but this is because you're not just up against two or three Necrodragons this time.

True to any homage to Echoes, you'll deal with units constantly summoning reinforcements. It's a great challenge, but they could have done with fewer summoners. Compared to other Paralogues, it's a bit underwhelming, simply because we think there are much better and more significant maps they could have used from Shadows of Valentia.

11 Th☂e Lady Of The Plains 𓂃

Fire Emblem Engage - Lyn's paralogue

Lyn's Paralogue is a homage to the first map you play in Fire Emblem: Blazing Blade, taking place on what is supposed to be the Plains of Sacae. This map is more fleshed out, and you're pressured to progress to claim all the Lorca Tribe huts before reinforcements burst out of them.

As you progress, Lyn will snipe you with Astra Storm. You'll have to make a call on whether you should bring your fliers with you because they are excellent at navigating the gaps, but the trade-off is all the archers to deal with. It's a challenge, especially with several areas connected separately by bridges.

10 ༒ The Crux Of Fate

Fire Emblem Engage Corrin summoned

The Crux of Fate mission is easy to deal with, so long as you keep your units on the main starting island. You can branch out but never stray too far. Corrin will eventually come to you with a bunch of units, which is when she'll try and throw around more Dragon Vein complications.

This is almost a complete square-for-square copy of the starting map from Fates, and it's easy to wrap your head around. While dull, it's arguably the most iconic map from Fates for them to use.

9 🐼 The Connector ඣ

Alear from Fire Emblem Engage

Without going into spoiler territory, this is the only Paralogue that has two steps to it. First, you must claim an item before the enemy runs away with it, and then your win condition changes to routing all 🥃foes.

Once you obtain the item, reinforcements will swarm in. Positioning is crucial, and since there are so many open spaces for the enemy to come through, turtling up in the middle might not work. It requires more strategy, and it's a wild ride of a fight.

8 🐷 The Azure Twin

Fire Emblem Engage Eirika summoned

Based on the Lagdou Ruins in Sacred Stones, this map throws in some dragon enemies and staff users who will assault you with debuffs, both of which are a pain to deal with. You never want to rush forward in Fire Emblem, but when Thieves are making a b-line to treasure, you don't have much choice.

The maps where you have to make strategic choices are the most enjoyable. Should you rush down the Thief and ignore the Dragons while you do it? Or should you take your time, hoping you'll catch the Thief on their way to leave the map? With so many narrow spaces, it's a brilliant challenge.

7 ꦿ The Young Lion

Fire Emblem Engage - roy in his paralogue

There are a ton of wyverns to deal with on this map, to the point of utter frustration. With that in mind, you aren't rushed in the way you have been in other Paralogues, which lets you take it slow. This map is based on the battle in Chapter 21 of The Binding Blade.

Pressure is put on you with all the fliers, and you have to plan to take Roy down with multiple health bars and the Hold Out skill. Both of these require planning because he can't be one-shotted by anyone. There could be fewer enemies to make this more fun, but the map design is excellent.

6 🌜 The Dawn Maiden

Fire Emblem Engage - Micaiah dialogue after her paralogue

This is another map that subverts your expectations. There are canons and ballistae dotted around, and you might think you should use them to slow Micaiah's advance or pick units off safely from a distance. This is the opposite of what you want to do.

Gathering up in the top fortress where Alear is will make it difficult for the enemy to overrun you. If you try and use siege weapons, you'll quickly be swarmed and taken out. Regardless of this subversion, it's excellent to see Radiant Dawn's Castle Nox re-imagined.
