Whether it’s defence, resistance, speed, or more attack, the stat tonics are the most useful in the game. They last for an entire battle, so it’s worthwhile to use them as and when you need them to give your allies a little bonus. Always keep a few spares in your convoy since it's better to have them and not need them.
10 Elixirs
These are the upgraded versions of Vulneraries in Eng🦋age. Usually, Elixirs in Fire Emblem restored 99 HP, but they have been nerfed to restore 30 HP this time🌊 around.
This means they’re effectively the Concoctions of this game, being the next tier up in terms of usable healing items. They also come with three charges but only appear later in the game. Until you unl𒐪ock them in the shop, you should still use your Vulneraries to top yourself off.
9 Boots

Entrap is one of the statuses staves that lets y🐬ou snatch a faraway enemy and completely isolate them from their army. Entrap has a range of six, and its hit rate can be somewhat unreliable, but when it works you can do some damage.
It’s ♚perfect for separating high-mobility or troubling units relying on chain attacks to whittle down your HP. Separating them from the pack will completely ruin their strategy, and you can happily wail on them without much risk♐.
5 Talisman
Units in Fire Emblem will always be plagued with low Resistance. This stat dictates how much da♋mage you’l🌌l take from magical attacks, and magic hits hard in Engage.
The Talisman item, like🌄 the Dracoshield, will permanently increase one of your unit’s resistance stat by two points. It’s perfect for making your magical-orientated characters nigh-invulnerable to magic or൲ helping one of your weaker units catch up.
4 Mend
Mend is one of the higher-tier heal♛ing spells in Fire Emblem Engage. It restores more HP than the lower Heal staff but Mend has fewer uses. These staves should eventually become your normal heal item the more you progress through the game.
Mend should ultimately replace Heal since your HP will be much higher, and the enemies will begin dealing more damage to you. You'll always need a healer in Fire Emblem, so you should triple check you have a healthy supply of Mends and other healing staves on you.
3 Freeze
Another status staff, Freeze is perfect fo🐭r giving your army some breathing room. You🐼r mages can use this stuff to try and freeze an enemy in place, stopping their movement for an entire turn.
It should be obvious why this is so powerful as it even works on some bosses who aren’t immune to such status effects. Being able to freeze a boss while you group up to lau꧙nch an attack is invaluable and you should always try and have someone with this staff.
