Ever since the release of Final Fantasy 3, Titan has been popping up as a summon. However, he isn't just a glorified spell, sometimes he makes appearances as a boss, and he has been gradually increasing his presence in the stories. This, of course, has all come to a head in Final Fantasy 16, which gives Titan a pivotal role. But this all begs the question, 'which game did Titan best?'

So, we set out to take a lot at every iteration of this icon. From his humble 8-bit origins to the more modern interpretations of his design, we'll be comparing each mainline entry against each other. We say "mainline" here, as we are going to try to stick to the core series. With all that being said, let's get to the ranking!

10 Final Fantasy 14 𓆉

Final Fantasy 14, Titan summon

Look, this list is going to be filled with a lot of muscular men in their underwear. Which means that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 14's version of Titan has a pretty unique aesthetic (comparatively speaking). Square really went the full mile with the rock-based aesthetic. However, while we appreciate how unique this Titan variation is, the squat boulder with arms and a ponytail just isn't our favorite look.

If we had to point to our biggest problem with his design here it would be the fact that he has the top half of a fully grown man and the bottom half of a toddler. Why? Why would you do this, Square? His boss battle does have multiple stages, which is neat, and he is incorporated into the story well enough, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:but none of that can save this primal from landing on the bottom of our list.

9 Final Fant🍸asy 11 ♐

Final Fantasy 11, Titan summon

This is clearly the prototype for Final Fantasy 14's boulder with arms variation of Titan. However, the fact that he doesn't have the legs of a baby makes it the less unhinged version. We have the ponytail, which is a fun choice, and he is still extremely stalky, but here he does have a more human-esque figure.

Now, while we dig the earrings and belt (as you will see, Titan has a thing for accessorizing), we don't love the Popeye-esque forearms. In fact, if we're being honest, those arms freak us out a little. Your gym routine is all wrong, Titan. You can't just do wrist curls, dude!

8 Final Fantasy🉐 5 🎶

Final Fantasy 5, Titan boss battle

Of all the classic variations of Titan—i.e. big man in underwear—this is the version where he looks the most like he is about to drop a deuce. Which, you know, is sorta relatable. What could be more human? While we don't want to be mean, it should also be mentioned that his hairline is a touch unfortunate in FInal Fantasy 5.

Look, we're not trying to hate on Titan. But we can't tell if the ground is shaking because he is using earth magic, or because he is just that constipated. Maybe that's why he's losing his hair? Too much straining! The secret is to add more fiber to your diet, Titan.

7 Final Fantasy 4 ꦍ 🔯

Final Fantasy 4, Titan summon

For the record, we are defaulting to the After Years version of Titan here because it is basically the same aesthetic, but we think he does look better with the more detailed sprite. And hey, it is always worth mentioning when Final Fantas꧋y IV: The After Years does something right. As for this design itself, this version of Titan is another muscly man entry. However, here he comes packing a winning smile.

We aren't a hundred percent sure what is going on with that pose, though. Are you looking to arm wrestle us, Titan? We get it, you work out all day every day. This desperate need for you to show off your strength only makes you look insecure.

6 ▨ Final Fantasy 13

Final-Fantasy-13-Titan

This version of the Titan is one of the more unique takes on this iconic summon. For one, we have the first metal variation. Titan has often been tethered to a rock-based aesthetic, but 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 13 is sorta notorious for bucking trends (for better or worse). One of our favorite parts of this version of Titan is just how incredibly large he is. This idea was first explored in Final Fantasy 9, of course, but something has to be said for how🅘 acutely you feel the difference in scale here. Titan is just massive in Final Fantasy 13 (though this is not the most massive version).

Another noteworthy element is that Titan, being a fal'Cie, actually has a part in the story. In fact, he is one of the few fal'Cie you get to directly interact with. Which means that he was one of the first Titans to get a more substantial role in the story. Unfortunately, he is a part of Final Fantasy 13's story, so that may actually count against him...

5 ๊ 🌞 Final Fantasy 7

Final Fantasy 7, Titan summon

Is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 7's version of Titan another (mostly) naked man? Naturally. However, this time he has a fancy necklace and a matching belt. He may not have learned about pants yet (spoiler: he never will), but h🤪ꦉe has taken to jewelry. Honestly, we respect it. This is an iteration of Titan where some more bestial qualities are added—primarily in the form of tusk-like teeth.

Notably, Titan also feels much bigger here. Those fangs, and his mass, help this iteration take a step away from that age-old "just a bodybuilder who can flex earthquakes into existence" archetype. And we really feel like Final Fantasy 7's Titan brought us one step closer to his colossal future.

4 ༒ Final Fa🥃ntasy 3

Final Fantasy 3, Titan summon

This is Titan's first appearance and, we'd argue, actually manages to incorporate multiple elements that would come to define him later—even though some went missing for a period of time. Yes, in his first appearance, he is a bodybuilder flexing, but his color scheme here (well, in two of three iterations, at least) gives him that stone aesthetic as well. This is an element that would be dropped in subsequential releases, before reemerging much later in the franchise.

O🍸ne of the particularly neat elements of Final Fantasy 3 is that t꧒here are multiple versions of every summon. Which leads to Titan having multiple attacks. He even gets a new color palette for each one! Of all the dude in a thong versions of Titan, this is our favorite. We think they sorta nailed his look straight out o🤪f the gate with this one.

3 Fina✅l Fantasy 9 🎀

Final Fantasy 9, Titan summon

Okay, let's face it. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 9's version of Titan is a big goof. Look at his big, dumb doofus' smile (you can argue that is just a ridge or something, but we can't unsee the smile). But as charmingly dorky as he may look, this version of Titan is also a bit of a trendsetter. The big part is particularly relevant here. Because this is a big boy. Final Fantasy 9 isn't your grandma's Titan, this Titan is a mountain with a jolly attitude. This galoot will uppercut your enemies directly into the stratosphere.

Now, there may be some debate as to whether this is, in fact, a version of Titan, as his name isn't directly used—you summon Fenrir who then, in turn, summons Titan (AKA a summonception). But his concept art names him as such, so we're taking that as a confirmation.

2 Final Fantasy 16 🎃

Final Fantasy 16 - Titan Cutscene

We were close to giving the top spot to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16's version of this iconic (or should we say "Eikonic") summon. He has the massive size you would expect from the more modern version of Titan. However, he manages to fuse those more golem-esque elements with the muscular man look beautifully. Design-wise, this is a great entry, but it isn't the most notable aspect (in our opinion). What really sets this Titan apart is his incorporation into the story.

Final Fantasy 16's version of Titan manages to get a pretty central role in the story. About a quarter of the game revolves around your confrontation with Titan, he is also directly tied to some pretty pivotal moments in the narrative. Naturally, this makes him all the more memorable. He also factors into the gameplay in some super fun ways, too. Though in a less conventional manner. Needless to say, this is a standout appearance for the big guy.

1 ও Final Fantasy 15

Whatever issues one may have with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 15, one thing c🍒annot be denied: it h🐼as some great summons. Here, Titan is able to simultaneously pay homage to his original design, while also carrying forward the more modern gigantic aspect. He is also accompanied by an incredible set piece moment. Probably the best one in the game, actually.

When it comes to scale, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:there are few lar𝓰ger encounters in games. Period. There is a spectacle here that can't really be beaten. Love it or hate it, Final Fantasy 15 has an incredible version of Titan. While we still don't know how to summon him in battle, when you do, seeing him charge in from the distance is absolutely entrancing. We couldn't help but give this Titan the top spot.
