The Grasslands region serves as 's primer on everything you should expect from all subs𓆉equent regions, including the Classified Intel system. By unlocking these, you'll be pitted against singularly powerful foes. It's not unlike the mark hunts seen in previous entries, like Final Fantasy 16.

Take the first ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚtrue steps of Final Fantasy 7 Rﷺebirth's adventure as the Grasslands opens up for your leisure.
Square pulls all the stops with them, starting with Quet✃zalcoa𒊎tl, the 'mark hunt' of the Grasslands. This great avian beast can pull a fast one on unprepared adventurers, even on FF7 Rebirth's Normal difficulty. Learn what it'll take to keep the battle running smoothly with our guide on how to beat Quetzalcoatl in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Quetzalcoatl Fight Overview
Since this is likely to be the first Classified Intel battle you'll conduct in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we'll start with the fundamentals. Each region's Classified Intel is unlocked upon locating and scanning every Lifespring. The location of your upcoming arena is then marked on the map.
Once you have arrived at your destination (which will always be a wide-open area with some theatrical angle - perfect for your battle!), hold the triangle button to initiate the fight.
Quezalcoatl's biggest differences from other Grasslands fiends lay in its considerable HP pool (over 20,000) and the power of its attacks. Using Assess on Quetzalcoatl will clue you in the fact that whenever it shifts from ground to air and vice-versa, it deals a major attack.
Avoiding this attack is actually relatively painless, however, so never soak the damage unless you think you can't get out of the situation.
Quetzalcoatl Battle Strategy
With a weakness to Ice, Quezalcoatl is perfectly primed to be the target of your Blizzard spell. If you should happen to have Blizzara already, all the more so. Synergy Skills like Snow Flurry and Ice Impulse, if you have any of them yet, hit for less but pressure just as well.
It's a good idea to make sure at least two of your three party members has an Ice-based attack, which will allow yo💙u to adapt to any unforeseen complications, like your main spellcaster g🎀etting knocked out.
Quetzalcoatl has a very large frame on all sides, and many of its attacks involve its claws and talons. As such, try to flank it when you can. You'll be reducing the likelihood of being struck head-on, and you'll have more opportunit♒ies to evade when it repositions itself.
Pressuring and Staggering Quetzalcoatl are a cinch, since you merely need to hit it with enough Ice-based damage. One good approach is to have Aerith use Blizzard with a Ward set around her so that she can do so twice with each cast.
You will need to be mindful of Aerith's HP, and you don't want to use her ATB charges to keep her hale and healthy if your goal is to wield her as a weapon! Have one of your other party members heal Aerith with items, so that you can continue your icicle assault.
When the Summon Gauge fills up, summon Shiva if you can, which will force Quetzalcoatl to endure a consistent barrage of Ice-elemental damage for a while. So long as you're regularly filling up the Stagger bar until it bursts, you💛r foe will drop after two or so round🤡s of it.
