When you dive into , you'll find a plethora o🤡f activities waiting to be explored, from gathering open world intel to tackling side quests that will keep you fully occupied. Each region in the game presents a unique cast of characters with their own requests that Cloud must fulfill. Some tasks may involve typical merc work, while others may be more unusual odd jobs.
As you progress towa🦄rds the end of the game, you'll venture into the Nibel region, where you'll reunite with Billy and encounter a peculiar Chocobo-dressed individual seeking your assistance. This quest not only adds to the adventure but also grants you access to a Chocobo, making traveling in the reg🌄ion much easier. It's a win-win situation for everyone involved.
How To Begin Esoteric Secrets Of The Elders
After reaching the Nibel region, you'll find the Esoteric Secrets Of The Elders side quest available at the Chocobo Ranch there.
Head over to the ranch and speak to Billy and the legendary figure, the Chocobo Sage. The sage will reque🥃st your assistance in retrieving one of his Choco💦bos that has run off, and you'll need to find her.
How To Capture Selena
With the new objective marked on your map, you can easily navigate there by fast traveling to the Nibel Airstrip and reaching the Chocobo location. This area presents another sneaky challenge where you must avoid being spotted by the Chocobos while quietly reaching Selena. However, this time, there's a twist.
First, head up using the path on the right side while avoiding the Chocobo in front of you, and make sure to pick up the Chocobo baits on the ground as you'll need them. Your goal is to throw these baits to lure the Chocobo forward while also avoiding the cacti in its path.
As you progress, you'll encounter sections where cacti create barriers in the path, and you will need to time your throws correctly to clear the path for Selena toꩲ pass through.
Don't hesitate to use the baits freely as they respawn.
For the first two sections, it's a good strategy to keep your Chocobo progressing at the very north of the path. However, once Selena approaches the area with numerous cacti, throw the bait in the middle after the cacti shrink, and wait for the path to clear to the north and lead her there. Rep🎀eat this process for the last section until Selena reaches the final location.
Once Selena returns to the initial location where you began, head down and interact with her to retrieve her, this will also grant you access to a Chocobo in the Nibel region. Finally, return to the Ranch and report to B𓃲illy and the sage that Selena is back!
The Nibel Chocobo comes with a special ability called Chocojet, which allows you to launch yourself high into the air while holding L2 above bodies of water.
Where To Find Chocograss
For your next objective, you'll need to gather 30 Chocograss and deliver them to the Sage. These can be easily spotted as yellow floating fruits.
While 30 might seem like a lo♐t, they ♔are actually quite abundant and easy to collect.
Head to the waters west of the ranch and use your Chocobo to collect the 30 Chocograss. They can all be found around that area, actually more than 30. Simply fly forward, around and behind the rocks, collecting them as you go, an♐d you'll have all 30 in no time!
Once you have gathered all the Chocograss you need, return to the Sage and give him the Chocograss. While you'll prove yourself to him, it seems there is still one more task you need to complete, one final trial.
How To Complete Zoom De Chocobo
For the final trial, you'll need to defeat the Chocobo Sage in a Chocobo race. The race consists of three laps, and your main objective should be to maximize your speed using the blue fruits and maintain it throughout the race while navigating the turns carefully.
You can use any gear you've previously collected for your Chocobo, and we recommend focusing on items that prioritize Speed and Acceleration.
However, it's still very doable even without using any gear.
Once you successfully beat the Sage in the race, the quest will be completed, and you'll receive your EXP and Party EXP as a reward.
