The Frogmaster's Request

Before diving into the overall guide of the Calling All Frogs side-quest, you must meet a few prerequisites before tackling it. First, you must defeat the Terror of the Deep boss in Under Junon, then rest at the Inn afterward.

From there, head to the Quest Board in town to find the 'Calling All Frogs' request posted on it. Accept the side quest, then go down to where you defeated the boss, heading beyond the dock where the fight occurred. You will see a hazy pink ambiance above a dark swamp in the cor🌠ner; make your way ove🐻r there to begin the side quest!

Combat Guide

As you begin speaking with the children, who are adamant that no adults are allowed to partake in the strange frog-transforming-mist, enemies appear in the dank swamp-like area, forcing Cloud and Tifa to take charge. However, thanks to the mist, they must take these enemies on as frogs.

During your frog forms, you have access to a standard attack via the Square button and a ranged 'Bubble Breath' attack with Triangle, and you can perform a Leapfrog attack by spending your ATB meter. This encounter isn't too challenging; just build your ATB up and use Leapfrog to pounce on them to build Pressure and Stagger them.

If you find yourself struggling during this section, try building your ATB meter from a safe distance, then move in on your target before performing Leapfrog to Stagger them, allowing you to swiftly eliminate them from there. Rinse and repeat until completed!

Jumpfrog Mini-Game Guide

After eliminating the enemies in the swamp, the children will push Cloud and Tifa back into the mist, turning them into frogs yet again, this time offering them the opportunity to play Jumpfrog. This mini-game involves you having to dodge rotating poles by either running underneath them or jumping over them.

While the Enfeeblement Ring may seem useless on paper, it is an excellent tool to utilize if you are trying to Steal specific items from certain enemies and don't want your teammates to obliterate them. Turning them into frogs at the start of the encounter gives you ample time to focus on Stealing, Morphing, or Assessing your opponent without 🅺the hassle of💜 them dying too early!

Jumpfrog Phase One Guide

At the start of the Jumpfrog mini-game, all the other frogs will make a fastbreak toward the left, but we highly suggest you head to the right, following behind the large rotating pole in front of you. Keep heading to the right until a large pole passes over you, then double back and leap over the pole chasing behind you.

Then, after you land, keep heading left and leap over another incoming pole. Upon landing, begin running to the right, following behind the pole you just leaped over. After another pole passes overhead, turn back around and jump over the pole chasing behind you to the left.

Upon landing again, you will want to run to the right until the pole above you passes over you, then begin running to the left again, jumping over the encroaching pole that has been chasing you. Keep repeating this general flow and pattern until roughly 30 Seconds into the mini-game.

Jumpfrog Phase Two Guide

When the clock reaches 30 Seconds, parts of the ground will fall into the vast ocean beneath you, narrowing your range of movement and making the jumps tighter to land.

For this phase of the mini-game, we recommend only moving to the left, periodically moving to the right to give yourself more room if need be, as you have far less time to react to the poles moving toward you. And, rather than running away from them, it's best to move toward them, jumping over the lower poles and slipping under the ones above you in unison.

Keep this pattern up all the way until the one-minute mark, then be prepared for the third and final phase, 𝓀which will give you a run for your money. While the second phase is relatively painless, the third isn't as kind.

Jumpfrog Phase Three Guide

About one minute and five seconds into your survival, even more of the ground will fall away, leaving you only a tiny sliver to jump and duck your way to victory. You must survive this for another 15 seconds if you want🐟 to master the♈ mini-game and get every reward.

Despite this phase being much more challenging, the general strategy remains the same, except you must execute your jumps and repositionings at a much faster pace. Again, we recommend trying to only move to the left, briefly running to the right for better positioning, 🐈and repeating until you break the minute twenty-s🤪econd barrier.

However, if the narrow platform and increasingly fast speeds of the poles weren't enough, the ground will also begin to rotate with you on it, making it crucial for you to keep moving to the left. If you begin lagging behind at this point, a poorly timed jump can have the platform move from underneath you, cutting your run short.

When you notice the ground begin rotating, make your way to the edge of the platform, on the left-hand side, so that your jumps will place you somewhere near the middle of the platform. Then, make your way back to the far end of the platform and try repeating this to the best of your ability until you break the time limit. An act that is much easier sai♈d 🌃than done.
