As you progress through , you'll encounter a multitude of side quests, e🐟ach with its own unique charm. While some are more serious, requiring you to defeat menacing fiends or monsters that threaten the people, others involve simpler tasks like making soup, collecting chickens, or even just casually taking pictures of the stars.

With the Absence Of A Sign side quest, you'll engage in the latter activity. The members of the Planetology Assembly will task you with takin🦩g specific pictures for 𒀰them. If Snaps didn't fulfill your photography desires, then these individuals just might.

How To Begin Absence Of A Sign

During your time in the Cosmo Canyon region, as you near the end of Chapter 10 before leaving for Nibelheim, new side quests become available on the Community Noticeboard. One of these quests is Absence Of A Sign.

Once you accept the quest from the board, head to the Planetology Assembly and speak to its members. They will task you with taking some photographs for them.

Where To Find All The Celestial Phenomena Locations

For this quest, you'll receive three marked locations on the map indicating where you need to photograph the Celestial Phenom♉ena.

You should take these pictures according to the notes provided by the quest-givers, which you can refer to when you're about to photograph each l꧅ocation.

Celestial Phenomena Location #1

In order to find the first Celestial Phenomena location, return to where you initially landed using the aircraft with Cid when you first arrived at Cosmo Canyon. There will be a pathway leading up to the location.

Upon reaching it, you'll encounter an enemy, the Reapertail, that you must defeat before you can take the pictures you need.

For this fight, it's recommended to have Barret and Yuffie in your party. Barret can serve as a ♐tank, while Yuffie can exploit the enemy's weakn▨ess with her Elemental Ninjutsu.

The Reapertail is weak to Ice, so using Ice magic will pressure it. However, when it's pressured, its weakness will change to Fire, making it more susceptible to physical attacks rather than magic.

Begin by using Yuffie's Ice Ninjutsu to pressure the enemy, then unleash physical attacks with your party members to stagger it and deal significant damage quickly🍸. After defeating the Reapertail, you'll be able to photograp🅰h the Celestial Phenomena.

Take out your camera using the up button on the d-pad and aim for at least 80 percent accuracy.

Make sure that the numbers in the middle of the camera menu are green, and you can also refer to the notes using the left button on the d-pad to position the shot correctly.

Once everything is aligned, take the picture with R2 and proceed to the next location.

Celestial Phenomena Location #2

For the second Celestial Phenomena, head south from your current location. You can reach it by using the ledge on the left side leading up to the location. Once again, you'll encounter the Reapertail at the top before you can take the picture. Deal with it q𝔍uickly and prepare your camera.

The process remains the same: take out your camera, refer to the note to position the shot correctly, and once the indicators turn green, take the picture. After obtaining your seco🅘nd pic💟ture, it's time to move on to the last one.

You can also take a picture of Aerith here to capture the moment if you wish, but it's not required for the mission.

Celestial Phenomena Location #3

The final Celestial Phenomena is situated in the middle of the desert, and reaching it can be a bit tricky. Begin by heading towards Gliding Range No. 16 - 124 m located to the south, and use your Chocobo to traverse to the other side.

If you've already completed Activation Intel 6 tower, you can simply fast travel to it.

Once you reach the tower, make your way north where you'll encounter an air pressure mechanism that will lift you to the top. At the summit, you'll once again need to defeat the Reapertail to get your final picture.

Now, for the quest, take out your camera and refer to the note to position the shot correctly. Once the indicators turn green, snap that picture.

If you took the picture of Aerith earlജier, you'll trigger a cute cutscene.

With all three pictures in hand, return to the Planetology Assembly and report to Caesar to claim your rewards. You'll receive a deck of tarot cards accessory along with the usual EXP and Party EXP.
