Ever since Final Fantasy 7 Remake released, Xbox fans have been wondering whether the game and its subsequent entries would ever be coming to their console, especially seeing as how Remake eventually launched on PC and Rebirth seems poised to do the same after May 🦩✅2024 when the console exclusivity runs out.

Although there have been a lot of rumours and reports about Fi⛎nal Fantasy 7 Remake being ported to Xbox at some point in the future, it seems that's not going to end up happening after all. , PlayStation has secured the whole Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy as a console exclusive, including the unrevealed third entry.
This was confirmed in an interview between The Washington Post and Rebirth's producer, Yoshinori Kitase, who suggested that one of the main reasons why the game has been received so well is because of its PlayStation exclusivity. In the interview, Kitsase says that he doesn't think it would have been possible if Rebirth had been developed for more than one console.
"Final Fantasy has always been on💙e of the primary franchise pillars on PlayStation consoles. [Square Enix] one oꦛf the best in the business at pushing beyond their fans’ lofty expectations and showing off what can be done with PlayStation hardware.”
In the same feature, The Washinton Post reveals that Sony has secured the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy as a console exclusive, noting that it's a "feather in the PlayStation cap". Meanwhile, Christian Svensson, vice president of second- and third-party content ventures and strategic initiatives at Sony Interactive Entertainment said that it was "part of recognising the original game's importance as a defining game for the PlayStation experience".
Svensson also said that PlayStation console exclusivity was "mutually desired" when Final Fantasy 7 Remake's development started, implying that it's always been the plan for the trilogy to only be available on PlayStation. Svensson's statement also confirms that Remake, Rebirth, and the untitled third entry in the trilogy won't be coming to Xbox in the future, although they likely will arrive on PC.
