In the original Final Fantasy 7, their ghosts appear to have humanoid skeletal appearances, wearing minimal clothing, using rudimentary💛 weapons like spears, and being larger than the average human.

In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the Gi are more human-like but with dark blue skin, pointy ears, and adorned with robes, jewels, and bone-like accessorie𝕴s.

What Did The Gi Do?

Following the development of their cynical and aggressive view toward the native beings of Gaia, the Gi decided that they would need to take what they wanted. Over time, many of the Gi died off, but due to being from another world, their spirits were not absorbed into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Lifestream, which forced them to wander the physical world.

As a result, they endured a torturous existence that only caused them pain, and they sought to find a way to end it. Through building up their negative energy, the Gi were able to create the Black Materia in hopes of using it to finally free themselves.

When the Gi attacked Cosmo Canyon, a young Red XIII (then known as a Nanaki) watched as his tribe fought off these unknown attackers. Being too young t🧸o fight himself, Red XIII could do nothing but see his father Seto seemingly abandon him and his mother.

As a result, Red XIII's mother died protecting him and the young creature grew up hating and feeling ashamed of his father's actions. It's not until Red XIII visits the Cave of the Gi that he learns the truth: His father sacrificed his life to lead the Gi Tribe into the cave and have it sealed t☂o save not only his family but his entire tribe.

How Do The Gi Affect The Story?

Due to the extended backstory and history that the Gi receive, their role in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's story is made much more significant. They become the reason that the Black Materia exists in the first place.

It's the main component that Sephiroth needs to enact his world-destroying plan so that he can merge with the Lifestream, and it's what the Cetra risked their lives to keep hidden away for thousands of years. The only reason that the Black Materia exists is that it was created from the Gi's overwhelming pain and suffering from being lost souls.

Though it seems like reasoning with the Gi would have been difficult, they're still refugees of a destroyed world, and it's unknown if there was a way to save them without destroying their physical and spiritual forms.

How Are The Gi Different From In The Original Final Fantasy 7?

It's due entirely to the expansion of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that we get to discover so many new things about the Gi. We also get a clearer look at their appearance thanks to the graphical upgrade and cutscenes depicting their less monstrous forms. They become an essential piece to the overall arc of the story, which is a massive prom🅰otion from where they started.

In the original Final Fantasy 7, the Gi Tribe serves as a key part of Red XIII's backstory and progressive character development. When the party visits Cosmo Canyon, the Gi Tribe acts as the main hostile entity that they have to fight since they're threatening Red XIII's Tribe.
