What Is The Combat Simulator In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

The combat simulator. Featured in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. However, it was far more limited in comparison. Like so many things in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the combat simulator has been upgraded in myriad ways.

Numerous categories have been added, and you will continue to unlock individual bouts within each one as you explore the vast world and perform World Intel requests fo🥀r Chadley.

These battles, which take place within virtual reality, will not only teach you certain fundamentals about how to play the game, but also provide you with increasingly challenging ordeals.

Emerging victorious in them not only feels good; after all, you will be taking advantage of everything the game's combat system can throw at you. But it can also lead to some significant rewards, many of which cannot be acquired elsewhere.

As such, it'sღ an excellent idea to check back with the combat simulator at least every time you enter a new open region. As Chadley will have upgraded it to a new version, which is a nice in-game way of saying that it has plenty of new content for you to engage with.

Summoned Entities In The Combat Simulator

Battling Summoned Entities Tutorial in FF7 Rebirth's Combat Simulator

In Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the primary purpose of the c𒅌ombat simulator was to take on mythic summoned entities familiar to series fans, which could then be added to your roster and used in battle.

Rebirth may sport several new categories of combat, but the summoned fights are still among its most climactic, and they remain a top tier reason to engage with the combat simulator. They have also been expanded in some inter🎃esting ways.

First, and foremost, there are up to four different difficulty settings for each. You will unlock a slightly lower setting every time you find and interact with one of the three shrines𝓀 in each open region.

Each region contains these shrines for a spec♋ific summon, which is in turn unloc꧃ked for you to battle and obtain as soon as you reach that area.

It may sound a bit underwhelming when we sayꦦ that you will be unlocking easier versions of the fights by engaging with the conte🐎nt.

But if you attempt the fights at full power as soon as they are unlocked, you will have to be significantly overleveled and have plenty else going for you as weಌll, in order to stand a chance.

As such, you should strongly consider going after the summoned fights in the combat simulator only once you have found at least one of these shrines. The following summons will gradually be unlocked in the combat simulatಞor as you continue your Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth adventure:.

  • In the Grasslands, you will find Titan and its shrines.
  • In Junon, you will find Phoenix and its shrines.
  • Corel contains Alexander.
  • Gongaga features Kujata.
  • Cosmo Canyon's got Bahamut Arisen
  • And Nibelheim is home to Odin.

Once you feel like you are strong enough, you should go back and try to tackle the summoned entity fights at their highest difficulty setting, though don't worry about missing out on spiffy stuff if you don't - each shrine 'levels up' the summon, culminating in a new ability at the third and final tier.

You can think of the most powerful summon forms 🧸as minor versions of so-called superbosses, though you will have a far easier ti𓆉me with, say, Titan at full might than you will with Bahamut Arisen, since Titan is available so much sooner.

Combat Simulator Rewards

We have already gone over the battles against summoned entities and provided you with the summon's Materia. While these are arguably the greatest rewards that the combat simulator has to offer, there is plenty else to gain as well.

Enemy Skills

First, you will learn new skills for the Enemy Skill Materia once♋ you unlock the s♊pecific battle challenges for each area.

Unlike the original Final Fantasy 7, which used Enemy Skill Materia much like the Blue Mage does in other games, you don't learn the skills by having them used on you in battle.

Instead, you learn new ones from the combat simulator over time as you continue to scan the enemies with Assess and eventually gain access to a special battle which pits you against iconic enemies from each area.

EXP Gains

Many combat simulator challenges will also give you a fair number of experience points. This is particularly handy since so many of the fights you will bump into on a routine basis in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won't give you a lot of experience.

Gaining it from anywhere possible can keep you not just at the recommended quest level, but signific𓄧antly higher over time.

Part of the reason that leveling up simply through fighting in the overworld can take so long is that the developers haven't populated the world regions with a huge quantity of enemy encounters.

Which isn't to say that there aren't enough, but you won't be bumping into them every five seconds as you would in, say, Final Fantasy 12. All of this is to say that the combat simulator can take over some of that slack, so to speak, and get you grinding at a rapid pace.

You will also gain AP, which means that your Materia will gradually level up as wel♋l.
