In 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, another Protorelic to hunt down means another oddly in-depth mini-game to conquer. While previous Protorelic-related mini-games were fairly simple, the mini-game in the Cosmo Canyon region is a ♍complex strategy game. Similar to Fort Condor, Gears and Gambits asks you to rely on clever tactics to overwhelm your opponent.

Gears and Gambits has a ton of rules that aren't fully explained from the get-go. Upon gett🌟ing into the mini-game for the first time, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the various mechanics. Here, we've outlined the basics of Gears and Gambits as well as some solid strategies for leading your bots to victory.

Gears And Gambits Overview

The Gears and Gambits menu showing all Robot units, the target, and current Portal Skills in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

In Gears and Gambits, your goal is to defeat the boss in the center before time runs out. If the timer runs out, or if enemies deplete your health by attacking your crystals, it's game over.

Like Fort Condor, Gears and Gambits functions off of the 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' system that goes as follows:

  • Fire beats Ice
  • Ice beats Lightning
  • Lightning beats Fire

Assigning an elemental Action imposes that element's weakness onto your robot. Equipping a robot with multiple elemental actions will give it additional weaknesses.

Player Units

In Gears and Gambits, you can summon only three robots onto the field at the cost of the ATB gauge. Each robot can be programmed with various Gambits and Actions. ꧟A Gambit determines the target, while Actౠions determine what your robot will do.

Gambits can also be set to specific circumstances, like if an ally is at less than half health. Once this condition is met, your bot will immediately use the assigned Action.

Actions can affect your robot's health, weaknesses, and how much ATB it costs to summon them. You can see how an Action will affect your bot's stats in the Player Units menu.

Some Actions also have a limited number of uses. Once an Action runs out of uses, your robot will use whatever actions it has left. Robots will use actions depending on their associated Gambit and the order in which they're set.

Enemy Units

Just like your robots, enemies utilize Gambits and Actions to attack. By pressing Square, you can assess your enemies and reveal their equipped Gambits and Actions.

Some enemies have Advanced Actions, which are triggered after specific conditions are met. You can see what will trigger an Advanced Action by assessing the enemy. Enemies with Advanced Actions are denoted by the number icons that appear on top of their health bar.

Cosmo Canyon Region - Phenomenon Intel 1: Planetological Ruins

The first Phenomenon Intel location near a set of ruins in the southeast part of the region in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

The first round of Gears and Gambits can be found in the southeast part of the region. You'll be able to take the hill nearby to reach the ruins. There will be three Chocobos outside the r෴uins to let you know you're in the right place.

Gears and Gambits Strategy

Robots attacking the boss in Gears and Gambits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

For this battle, you can't choose the Gambits and Actions your robots are programmed with. Each robot is equipped with one elemental attack and one basic attack with infinite uses.

While you can't program your robots, you can choose which Portal Skills you want to use. They don't make a huge difference, but the Hybrid Loadout is a great option. Regenga is great for keeping bots alive when bosses start using attacks that h🐼it all three lanes.

This round is fairly straightforward, focus on placing down bots that target the enemy's weakness. Typically, you should place at least two bots to deal with an enemy since your bots can't heal yet.

Avoid placing all your bots in a single lane, as four bots in a single lane will trigger the boss's Gambit. The boss will then cast Barrier on themselves to boost their defense.

Cosmo Canyon Region - Phenomenon Intel 2: Empyrean Ruins

The second round of Gears and Gambits is located in the northern part of the region. To reach this area, you'll need this region's Chocobo to glide across a gap.

When you've secured a Chocobo, head over to the Gliding Range 24 and fl𓄧y straight across the gap to reach the mission's location.

Gears and Gambits Strategy

You now have the ability to program your robots with Gambits and Actions as you see fit. Make sure that yꦐou equip each bot with o🦹ne elemental attack, so that you can target weaknesses.

If programming robots is too overwhelming, you can press Square after selecting a robot to Auto-Program your team. You can use the Auto-Program option to cycle through several preset teams until you find one that suits your playstyle.

Have at least one bot serve as the healer of the group and equip them with the Cure Shot Action. As for the other two, they benefit from the Barrier Shot and Bravery Shot Actions to buff the party. Consider equipping the Cost -20 Action to make your bots more affordable.

The boss for this round will use Phase Shift: Reinforcements at half health to summon one enemy in each lane. This is when you should use any offensive Portal Skills to take care of reinforcements while you wait for the ATB gauge.

Cosmo Canyon Region - Phenomenon Intel 3: Capital Ruins

The third Phenomenon Intel location in the southern part of the Cosmo Canyon region in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

The third round of Gears and Gambits is in the southern part of the region, close to where the first Phenomenon Intel mission was. Make your way up through the crumbled ruins to reach the marked location.

Gears and Gambits Strategy

There's now an additional slot for programming your robots with Gambits and Actions. This battle features several flying enemies, so it's worth equipping the Gravity Shot and Missile Actions to the new slot you've unlocked.

At the beginning of the fight, many strong enemies are thrown your way quickly, so switch to the Offensive Loadout for Portal Skills. This Loadout grants the Aeroga and Comet abilities, which strike hard and have a wide range.

Once a quarter of their health is taken out, the boss will use Phase Shift to change their elemental affinity. At low health, the boss will use this ability once more to change their elemental affinity.

Be sure to place a variety of bots in each lane, so they can target the current weakness.

This boss can also cast Regen twice to quickly restore their health. You can't let up on the assault for a second; you need bots attacking the boss at all times to prevent them from recovering.

Luckily, after its second use of Regen, there's no other way for the boss to recover health.

Cosmo Canyon Region - Phenomenon Intel 4: Planetological Ruins

The fourth Phenomenon Intel location in the eastern part of the Cosmo Canyon region in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

The final round of Gears and Gambits is in the eastern part of the region. You'll need this region's Chocobo to reach this Phenomenon Intel mission as well.

Head over to Gliding Range 18 and glide toward the direction of the Phenomenon Intel Mission. You'll find a ledge to land on and an elevator nearby that will take you up to the mission's location. There will be several enemies on the way, so prepare for combat.

Gears and Gambits Strategy

This battle introduces Advanced Actions for your robots. Just like with enemies, Advanced Actions will trigger after certain conditions are met. It's your choice as to what conditions need to be completed in order to a✅ctivate the equipped Advanced Action.

Supportive Advanced Actions like Haste Field and Nullemental Field are key to clearing this battle with ease.

As for the conditions, 'Survived 30 Seconds' is the easiest to accomplish. Having multiple bots on the field with support-based Advanced Actions will allow your team to tear through enemies.

Just like with the previous boss, this boss will also change their elemental affinities once portions of their health are taken out. Luckily, having your bots support each other with Advanced Actions will be enough to claim victory.
