Strago gets a bit of an unfair shake among Final Fantasy fans. Sure, he isn't among the most popular 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster characters around. He's no mystery gal like Terra, nor does he possess Edgar's swag, Sabin's memes, or even Mog's impossibly cute disposition. But that's no reason to bench the old chap all game long and forget he exists as soon as you exit this guide.
We can't help but feel like there's enough usefulness in Strago's potential Lore learnings to give the guy another chance. To that end, we've compiled a full list of where to find every Lore ability, so you can see for yourselves what the gentleman from Thamasa stores up his sleeve.
Updated on April 22, 2023 by Quinton O'Connor: Have you heard the good news? FF6 Pixel Remaster's finally on consoles. To help players out who are hopping on these classics via PS4 or Switch, we're updating all our Pixel Remaster guides to a solid standard.
Every Lore Ability In Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster
This big table is your new best friend on the road to learning every Lore. But before you blitz past this bit, bear in mind that not every Lore can be learned simply through waiting for an enemy to use it in battle. Some Lores require players to facilitate certain conditions before their foes will doജ the deed.
First, let's check out the complete list of FF6 Lore. Afterward, we can really dive into each learning method.
- 1,000 Needles: Deals 1,000 guaranteed damage to one target.
- Aero: Heavy Wind-elemental damage to all enemies.
- Aqua Breath: Moderate Water/Wind-elemental damage to all enemies.
- Bad Breath: Inflicts Blind, Confuse, Imp, Poison, Silence, and Sleep on one target.
- Dischord: Halves one target's level.
- Doom: Inflicts Doom status on one target.
- Grand Delta: Deals moderate damage to all foes that ignores defense and lacks an elemental attribute.
- Level 3 Confuse: If target's level is a multiple of three, inflicts Confuse. Works against all enemies. Blocked if enemy is protected from Confuse.
- Level 4 Flare: Deals moderate damage to all foes whose levels are divisible by four. Ignores defense.
- Level 5 Death: If target's level is divisible by five, automatically kills them unless they're protected.
- Level ? Holy: Holy-elemental damage to all enemies whose level matches your Gil's ones digit.
- Mighty Guard: Protect and Shell statuses are cast upon every party member.
- Quasar: Guaranteed, moderate damage to all enemies.
- Reflect????: Any enemies with Reflect presently cast upon them are inflicted with Blind, Slow, and Silence.
- Revenge Blast: The caster's current HP is subtracted from their max HP. The attack deals this much damage.
- Rippler: All status effects presently on the caster are given to the target instead.
- Roulette: Instantly kills a randomly-selected target from both the enemies and allies. Won't work on anyone with protection against automatic death.
- Self-Destruct: The caster perishes, but the target receives exactly as much damage as the caster had in HP.
- Stone: Moderate non-elemental damage to all enemies. Also inflicts Confuse. If the caster's level matches the targets, this deals seven times more damage.
- Transfusion: Fully heals HP, MP, and all negative status effects from a targeted ally. However, the caster vanishes.
- Traveler: Deals guaranteed damage equal to the number of steps taken in the game divided by 32.
- Tsunami: Moderate Water-elemental damage to all enemies.
- White Wind: Heals entire party equal to the amount of HP the caster presently possesses.
Lore Learning: Normal, Control, Sketch, Rage
Normal learning is as simple as Blue Magic often is throughout the Final Fantasy series. In order to learn Lore 'normally', Strago must be struck with the attack. You'll see this listed a good deal of times in the chart below, and yet one must ask in some cases, is it truly attainable? After all, what enemy will cast White Wind - a healing spell - on Strago rather than itself?
Thus, there are further conditions, and they contribute to the depth of Strago's mechanics. These conditions include enticing them with Control, painting them with Sketch, or utilizing what Gau learns from them through Rage.
Control replaces Sketch via the Fake Mustache weapon, which makes Relm - who uses both Sketch and Control exclusively - doubly important for Strago's learnings. Makes sense, given their (adoptive) familial nature. Controlling an enemy lets the player choose the attack they use each time their turn comes up on the ATB bar. Pick the Lore ability, and have it used against Strago.
Rage learning is especially interesting, as it requires a two-pronged approach. First, Gau must use his Rage command and learn an enemy's moves. Once he's returned to the party with the requisite move learned, have him use it while Strago's in the party, which compels Strago to learn it.
