Upon tracking down 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16's Severian players will instantly realize that this isn't the first time they've seen those giant blue blades. Severian is a buffed up version of the Guardian Clive first encountered in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Phoenix Gate Ruins. But that isn't to say that this battle is the same.
Needless to say, the Fallen Guardian was a pain in the butt, and Severian is a much stronger version of him. More concerningly, Severian is also far more nimble. That's right, despite being the size of a building, you are going to have to chase him down. Thankfully, we have all the tips you'll need to subdue Severian and help him reunite with the Fallen Guardian... in the scrapyard
Where To Find Severian
Severian is in Rosaria, west of Martha's Rest. Just fast travel to Martha's Rest, exit through the west path, and then, once you enter Sorrowise, head to the north most point. He is waiting for you at the top of that loop. Once you are on the right path, it is pretty hard to miss Severian.
How To Beat Severian
This accursed automaton will be familiar, but that isn't to say that it doesn't have a few new tricks up its robotic sleeves. From its dash to its enhanced spinning attack, Severian is a handful, but we have cataloged all its attacks below, as well as the best approach for claiming victory.
The table below will break down all of Severian's unique attacks - those in italics are named attacks that appear on-screen, so you can look out for them specifically.
Attack |
Description |
Thrusting Attack |
This attack will see Severin wind up, and then lunge at Clive. The Thrusting Attack has a pretty slow startup, but it is quite quick once it is in motion. That being ඣsaid, it is very linear, so you cꦉan easily side-step it, precision dodge it, or parry it. |
Back Attack |
Sevari๊an will extend both of its arms out to its sides, extend its blades, and the🌳n scissor them backward. This is an attack it will use to catch Clive if he is attacking its backside. |
Double Energy Shot |
Severian fires two massive balls of energy. There are a couple of ways to deal with this attack. They make for an easy precision dodge, so you can use them to close the distance between you and Sevꦕerian, or you can counter them with your Heatwave for easy damage. |
Energy Pulse |
Severian will create a dome of energy. Y🌊ou will have enough time escape the dome before it erupts in a giant ex✨plosion. The second part to this attack sees energy orbs surround Severian which will eventually explode. There is an inner circle wh𝄹ich will remain completely safe from these explosions. So, a꧙fter dodging the first explosion, dash toward Severian and attack him as these orbs explode around you. |
Eradicate |
Severian will charge up both of its swords. Then starꦿt spinning while dozens of slow-moving projectiles shoot out in every direction. Severian will wind up, then pause, and finally, just before it lets the attack rip, it will wind up just a tiny bit more. This is your cue to prepare your dodge. If you successfully dodge through it, you will be able to attack Severian's backside as it spins its blades and walks forward. If you are right up against its back, all the projectiles will miss. This is Severian's big attack. Severian won't start using it until you have taken about half of its health. |
As we already mentioned, Severian is very similar to the Fallen Guardian you fought at the Phoenix Gate. The biggest difference is that this version of that mechanical menace is far more mobile. Severian can dash all around the battlefield and is surprisingly nimble. Of course, you can always track it down using your Phoenix Shift, though it will sometimes dash backward just out of ✅your reach and then take a swipe at you with its sword. So, make sure to note dash straight into a t🧔rap.
One of the keys to beating Severian is learning to punish its Energy Pulse attack. It relies heavily on this move during the first half of the fight. For maximum efficiency, attack Severian as they form the dome, while attacking it, keep your eyes on their arms. Once you see them slamming their fists into the ground, precision dodge away, then press the attack button dash right back in with a counter-slash (which will help you dash right past the orbs surrounding it). This will give yoཧu the opportunity to land multiple combos.
However, while you are going to want to spend most of your time attacking his back, watch out for his Back Attack. You'll know when he is about to do this, as he will extend both of his arms out to the side. Sevarian will only do this attack if you are attacking him fromꦫ behind,﷽ so just make sure to look for it when you are attacking his rear.
At a distance, Severian will start firing off its projectiles and looking to approach with its Thrusting Attack. So, if you are looking to counter with your Heatwave, you can bait these out by getting a little distance. Just look for that Thrusting Attack, as it will surely come. However, unlike with the Fallen Guardian, you don't get to dictate range as much. Severian's increased mobility make it far better equipped to create distance (and in the blink of an eye, close that distance).
A great way to deal with the thrust attack is to parry it using your own thr🍸ust attack. Fight fire with fire!
During the second half of the fight, you will need to learn to take advantage of Severian's Eradicate attack. You see, even though those blades are rotating all around its body, 360 degrees, they are tilted in such a way to allow you to attack the ancient artificial entity's back.
The tell for the Eradicate attack is also very easy to read, as Sevarian winds up, pauses, and then winds up just a tiny bit more before letting the move rip. And as it performs this attack it is compl🌞etely locked in place, which means you can do to town on its exposed back.
While it is bad news if you mistime your precision dodge an🎃d get caught in the whirlwind of blades, you can still utilize your limit break to recover and get out of there. Consider that your emergency🌃 button.
