As you get further into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16, the stakes only seem to get higher. The world of Valisthea is plunged further and further into chaos with every new chapter closed, yet our heroes only strive to move onward. After fighting through the quickly-falling Free Cities of Kanver, Clive finally gets to take on the King of Waloed's mysterious right-hand man.
Sleipnir is quite a fun boss to take on, with a diverse set of abilities and agile movements. The battle feels like a dance, with the pair of you trading blows elegantly. Of course, you have to come out the winner, so here's how to defeat him.
How To Defeat Sleipnir
Like a few other quite frustrating bosses, Sleipnir will spend a decent amount of time teleporting around the battlefield. This mostly eliminates his need for gap-closer attacks and lets him position himself wherever he wants🐲 to set up his assaults.
Speaking of, the table below lists all of the attacks that Sleipnir will use iꦡn the ♏first part of the battle.
Attack |
Description |
Slashing Combo |
This is a simple mel♓ee attack made at close range. Has m🌺ultiple hits. Avoid this as you would ꧂any other simple melee combo - simply dodge away. |
Thrusting Combo |
Sleipnir will make a lunging attack, which is im🅘mediately followed by a slashing combo. The initial attack is quite fast, but the second part of the attack is easily dodged as long as you know it's coming. Just stay away from Sleipnir after he dashes. |
Dark Orb |
Sleipnir summons aꦰn orb of dark energy and fires it at you. It has surprisingly gooﷺd tracking. Thanks to the orb's speed and tracking, you'll want to make a Precision Dodge at the last second, rather than trying to strafe to one side before it gets near. |
Delayed Darkness |
Sleipnir touches the ground, summoning a puddle of darkness that follows your location exactly. It will only stop followꦑing your location a second before exploding with dark fire. You'll need to react to this attack as soon as it stops following you and dodge out of the imminent explosion. Sleipnir will not stop attacking you during the charge-up of this attack, so you'll need to keep an eye on both the boss and the puddles movements. |
Dark Fist |
Sleipnir makes a short-range punching𝕴 attack that ends 🌳with an explosion. You should notice the dark energy that swirls around Sleipnir's hand as he charges this attack up; this should give you enough time to react to the actual attack hitbox. |
The first stage of this battle is quite simple - Sleipnir doesn't have any fancy attacks to be wary of, apart from Delayed Darkness, and that attack is quite easy to predict after you've dealt with it once.
After Staggering the Boss once, though, a cutscene will play (in which you'll have to make a Cinematic Dodge) where he trades his usual sword for a new weapon, Gungnir. With this, he gets some totally new attacks:
Attack |
Description |
Dark Arc |
After charging up Gungnir with dark energy🌌, Sleipnir swings it horizontally. This fires a blade of darkness in your direction. You🅺 can either🐲 dodge through this for a convenient Precision Dodge, or just hop over the blade for an easy dodge. |
Darkness Thrust |
Sleipnir thrust🌜s his spear forward in a jab, e𓂃mitting a quick, linear beam of darkness. You'll have to notice when this attack is happening to dodge out of the way, and this can be difficult if the attack overlaps with Sleipnir's longer attacks. |
Melee Combo |
Sleipnir performs a multi-hit combo 🐓with the spear. This will end with a thru🔥sting attack in your direction, so be careful if you dodged away from the initial hits. If you manage to get a Precision Dodge from the very first hit of this combo, immediately attacking can reliably net you a Parry if you're positioned right. |
Creeping Darkness |
Sleipnir summons lots of dark orbs around you, whicꦕh will then s🐲lowly drift into your initial location before disappearing. As these orbs are slow, it's not too difficult to avoid this attack, but beware Sleipnir - he likes to try and surprise you with other attacks while you're busy avoiding. |
Ratatoskr |
Sleipnir summons large swords of darkness and flings them into the air. These will come crashing down to the ground in small groups around the𝕴 battlefield, telegraphed by black puddles with red lights in them. Avoid the puddles to avoid the attacks, as usual. |
Scar of Nibelung |
Sleipnir jumps into the air and then smashes to the ground, creating linear attacksꦚ in a star-shaped pattern from the impact zoꩵne. When you see this attack start up, move away from Sleipni🎶r so you can better see where the attacks will be aimed. |
Dead Man's Bier |
Sleipnir flieไs up into the air and casts Ratatosky. After the barrages of swords, he will send down three very large spears in telegraphed locations that emit large shockwaves when they hit the ground. This is followed by simultaneous large spear shockwaves and then Scar of Nibelung. Dur♑ing the🃏 initial spear barrages, the attacks will come quite quickly after the patches of ground turn black and red to signify them. Try to get a Precision Dodge to get away from the attacks quicker. If you hop over the shockwaves in the second part of the attack to avoid them, try to aim your leaps so that you don't get caught by another shockwave as you land - it's quite tricky. |
Sleipnir becomes more agile in this stage of the fight, teleporting more and using his named attacks quite frequently. Dead Man's Bier is a difficult attack to dodge completely, especially if you aren't used to its constituent parts, Ratatoskr and Scar of Nibelung.
Sleipnir will be stunned for a significant amount of time following Dead Man's Bier, so make sure you make use of this and dash in to 🤡get some easy da♓mage on him.
By now, you should have a pretty well-rounded set of preferred skills and should be able to capitalize on Sleipnir's Staggers well enough to deal a lot of damage. He's not a very bulky boss, so as long as you keep the offense up, this battle shouldn't take too long.
Bahamut's Impulse is a particularly useful skill to have in this fight. Not only does it do great Stagger dꦚamage, but it will automatically and quickly track Sleipnir even through his teleporting.
This lets you track him better and keep the chip damage coming even when he's far away from you.
For beating Sleipnir, you'll get the following rewards:
Experience |
5,200 |
Ability Points |
420 |
Gil |
3,500 |
Spoils |
Sanguine Insignia x2, Wyrrite x45, Meteorite x2 |
