Namely, the Blacksmith's Blues side quests and the various Notorious Marks on the hunt board will give you the means to strengthen your arsenal. Before switching to a weapon that seems stronger, see if you are able to reinforce your weapon, as swords and equipment can usually be reinforced up to two times, and doing so will further improve their stats.
All Weapons And How To Get Them
Weapons are obtained from Main Quests, side quests, Charon's Toll, The Black Hammer, and chests, and the only weapon you can't obtain on your first playthrough is the Ultima weapon.
Braveheart is a special weapon only obtainable as a pre-order bonus, the Blood Sword is a similar weapon that can only be obtained in the Collector's Edition, and as of the 1.0 Patch, you can obtain the Onion Sword from the System menu after clearing the "A Chance Encounter" Main Quest.
