Each Final Fantasy game features a special ability to summon powerful creatures to cause high amounts of damage. Final Fantasy 16 transformed that concept and implemented it as a main part of the story𒁃, with characters fully embodying these mythical entities. We examine all the important information about Eikons and how they influence Final Fantasy 16’s story.

What Are Eikons?

Ifrit is awakened at Phoenix Gate

In Final Fantasy 16, Eikons are the Summons that Final Fantasy fans have experienced throughout the series but are controlled by actual hosts. The people of Valisthea fear and worship these god-like beings as they are 🅷used by theﷺ various kingdoms as instruments of war.

The 🌳term “Eikon” is derived from the Ancient Greek word for “image” and is an alternate version of the word “icon.”

Eight Eikons exist in Valisthea: Ifrit, Phoenix, Shiva, Titan, Garuda, Ramuh, Bahamut, and Odin. Each of the Eikons represents an element, such as wind or lightning; however, there are two Eikons of fire and no Eikons of water. Ph🀅oenix and Ifrit are both the Eikons of Fire, while Leviathan, the Eikon of water, disappeared several years ago, and their loca♚tion is unknown.

Eikons are composed of Aether, the life force of Valisthea and the origin of magic in Final Fantasy 16. The presence of Aether is typically invisible, but mass quantities of it will give off a blue fog in the environment. Eikons can heal themselves by absorbing more Aether and even have the potential to regen🗹erate any lost limbs.

Dominants

The individuals who are bestowed with the power of Eikons are known as Dominants. Throughout Valisthea, Dominants are either praised and treated like royalty or shackled and controlled like slaves. When a Dominant summons the power of their Eikon, the being towers over regular humans and can decimate armies within an instant.

The more Dominants use their Eikon abilities, the faster their life fo🦩rce is drained by the Aether.

The Rosfield royal family is known to harness the power of the Phoenix, though the eldest son, Clive, did not receive this blessing. Instead, it was inherited by his younger brother, Joshua. However, during the assassination attempt at Phoenix Gate, Clive awakened a second Eikon of fire, Ifrit.

Although each Dominant controls their specific Eikon, Clive possesses the ability to absorb other Eikons and use multiple elemental powers. By absorbing the Eikon,ไ he strips the incumbent Dominant of their Eikon power, and they&rsqu♏o;re left mostly powerless.

The Eikons🍰 in Final Fantasy 16 are all exceptionally powerful, though sꦉome more so than others. These are the eight Eikons featured in Final Fantasy 16 and the Dominant who cont💫rols their power.

Ifrit

  • Known as the second Eikon of Fire, Ifrit resembles a large demon with horns and a long mane of white hair.
  • Ifrit can throw fireballs and also create barriers of fire to protect itself from attacks.
  • Ifrit was awakened inside Clive Rosfield during the attack of Phoenix Gate and could be the reason why Clive did not inherit the Phoenix Eikon as intended.
  • Apart from harnessing the power of Ifrit, Clive can also absorb other Eikons' abilities.

Phoenix

  • Representing a massive bird, Phoenix is the designated Eikon of Fire.
  • It has long colorful peacock-like feathers from its tail and, similar to Ifrit, can launch fireballs as well as a concentrated fireblast from its mouth.
  • The main difference between Phoenix and Ifrit is the former possesses healing powers that differ from simply absorbing more Aether.
  • This Eikon is inherited by members of the royal family of Rosaria and while many expected Clive Rosfield to harness this power, it was his younger brother Joshua who inherited Phoenix.

Shiva

  • Shiva is the Eikon of Ice and appears as a pale-skinned woman with flowing, almost white hair.
  • Shiva's ice powers can be used offensively and defensively, as she can launch sharp icicles at enemies and create ice walls to shield herself and her allies.
  • Shiva's Dominant typically reigns from the Northern Territories, with the current Dominant being Jill Warrick, a childhood friend of Clive and Joshua.
  • Her powers were awakened after she was captured by the Iron Crusade following the assassination of Elwin Rosfield. Although Jill possessed the power of Shiva, she was treated like a monster by the Iron Crusade.

Ramuh

  • The Eikon of Thunder resided with Cidolfus Telamon, the leader of the Hideaway and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:protector of Bearers.
  • When activating Ramuh, he appears as an elderly man with a white beard and wielding a staff.
  • Ramuh summons massive bolts of electricity called Levinbolts that have enough power to revert Clive to his human form after raging as Ifrit.
  • Before establishing the Hideaway, Cidolfus was the Lord Commander of the Waloeder Royal Knights but abandoned his position after realizing how terrible the Bearers were treated.

Garuda

  • Hugo's current lover and ex-lover of Cidolfus Telamon was Benedikta Harman, the Dominant of Garuda.
  • The Eikon of Wind resembled a Harpy-like creature with talons on her hands and feet and two sets of wings on her back.
  • Garuda was able to conjure massive tornados to blow enemies away and summon other creatures that act like minions.
  • Garuda's razor-sharp talons are well-suited for tearing apart enemies too, allowing her to be effective in both long-range and up-close combat.

Titan

  • The Eikon of Earth, Titan appears as a gigantic human, albeit one covered in stone instead of flesh.
  • Titan is the largest of the Eikons in sheer size and the strongest in brute force. He's able to uplift massive pieces of the ground beneath him and launch rocks and other objects at his enemies.
  • Hugo Kupka, the Permanent Economic Advisor to the Dhalmekian Republic, possessed the power of Titan, and that granted him prestige within the Dhalmekian kingdom.
  • Even in his human form, Hugo possessed exceptional strength which only enhanced the strength of Titan.

Bahamut

  • Bahamut is considered one of the most powerful Eikons after Ifrit mostly due to its energy blast.
  • The Eikon of Light is a giant wyvern with massive wings that can fire energy beams from its mouth in different variations.
  • Bahamut's current Dominant is Dion Lesage, the firstborn prince of the Holy Empire of Sanbreque.

Odin

  • The opposite of light is dark, so the opposite of Bahamut is Odin.
  • The Eikon of Darkness takes the form of an armored horseman who rides a six-legged horse named Sleipnir.
  • Odin wields a massive blade that can generate energy blasts and cut through virtually anything.
  • Odin's blade can be used in either Eikon or human form, which Barnabas Tharmr, the king of Waloed and Odin's Dominant, uses against Clive Rosfield.
