168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 15 is a game about adventure. From campfire suppers and rock-climbing jaunts to tourist traps and wildlife watching, FF15's got it all. But it wouldn't be a Final Fantasy without upping every simple-sounding activity into something extraordinary — the meals are prepared by a kingdom's top chef; the climbs can direct you to a dank dungeon; the locals are universally eccentric. And the wildlife wants to eat you.

But above all else, there is fishing. Nothing says nature better than a quartet of comrades choosing the right rod and chasing a lakeside bounty. And no bounty is better than the Noble Arapaima, otherwise known as the Liege of the Lake. Here's everything you'll need to know so that Noctis and Gladio can proudly catch this bossy fish.

How to Unlock Liege of the Lake

Noctis standing in the center of a well-lit wooded area in the Myrlwood

Before you can begin things in earnest, you'll need to be sure the Liege of the Lake sidequest has been unlocked. Thankfully, this is a cinch.

For starters, you need to reach Chapter Eight in the main story. It's the first time since Chapter Three that Final Fantasy 15 opens up to you in a big way, and it's an ideal time to tackle all but the toughest quests the game has to offer. When you're ready to commence this quest, travel to Capitis Haven in the Cleigne region's Vesperpool area.

Rest at the Capitis Haven campsite for the night. This will trigger a short cutscene in which Gladio informs Noctis of a "veritable monster" lurking in the Vesperpool. Agree to tag along with him in the morning and you're good to go.

How to Prepare for Liege of the Lake

The Vesperpool area in Final Fantasy 15.

As any good fisherman will tell you, good equipment is half the battle. Final Fantasy 15's fishing minigame reflects this in full. Going up against the Liege of the Lake with subpar equipment is a one-way ticket to disappointment.

The following table contains a list of the best fishing gear for the Liege of the Lake quest as well as how to reel it all in so you're prepped and ready for the main event.

Item

Acquisition

Tranquility Rod

The reward for "Angler's Nightmare" quest (see below).

Nereid Reel or Llymlaen Reel

(Nereid Reel) Purchase from "Bert's Bobbers & Stuff" shop at the Vesperpool (Llymlaen Reel) Prize in "Totomostro" mini-game (see below).

Dragon's Beard Line

Purchase from item shops for 2,000 Gil.

Needle 10,000 Gold Gigantuar Lure

Purchase from "Bert's Bobbers & Stuff" shop at the Vesperpool.

How to Get the Tranquility Rod

Final Fantasy 15 Navyth

The Tranquility Rod is the best rod in the game. Fittingly, obtaining it is no small task, but with such a sterling defensive value, its helpfulness in Liege of the Lake cannot be overstated. To acquire the Tranquility Rod, you must undergo all of Navyth's Quests.

Navyth's location depends on how far into his questline you happen to be; you'll first spot him in Alstor Slough's Neeglyss Pond Fishing Spot in the Duscae Region. You can begin his quests as early as Chapter Three, and each of them requires you to catch a specific type of fish. Here's how to complete each of Navyth's requests:

Quest Name

Location

Availability

Quarry

Strategy

"Fishing Buddies"

Alstor Slough (Neeglyss Pond)

Chapter 3

Crag Barramundi

An e🅺asy mark. Take Tidal Might Leviathan Lure for an even easier time.

"Fishing, Naturally"

Upper Wennath (Wennath River)

Complete "Fishing Buddies"

Cherrycomb Trout

Just as easy as the first quest.

"Navyth's Challenge"

The Vesperpool (West Bank)

Chapter 7; complete "Fishing, Natur♕ally"

Vesper Gar

Use either t🍰he Stinker: Malboro or Stinker: Malbodoom Lure and level your Fishing Skill to seven or higher.

"Angler's Nightmare"

Vannath Coast

Chapter 8; complete "Navyth's Challenge"

Murk Grouper

Grind Fishing Skill to ten in order to locate it. Patience is a virtue; it spends most of the match actively fighting you. Don't dare reel it in until it rests!

With Navyth's errands behind you, the Tranquility Rod is yours.

(Optional) How to Get the Llymlaen Reel

Final Fantasy 15 Totomostro Arena

You'll note that we list two different reels for Liege of the Lake. The Nereid Reel, which you can buy from 'Bert's Bobbers & Stuff' right near the quest's fishing spot, is perfectly serviceable stuff. For an easier time, the Llymlaen Reel is also an option.

Here's the kicker: you can't acquire the Llymlaen Reel until you've set sail for Altissia, which not only closes out Final Fantasy 15's eighth chapter but sets players on a course through main events that prohibit them from returning to the Lucis continent for further misadventures until right near the end of the game. In other words, waiting on this lovely Llymlaen piece means pushing back Liege of the Lake's completion until much later.

There's no real downside to doing so, save for a certain degree of narrative awkwardness. To get this all-star reel, you'll need to invest a good chunk of your time in the Totomostro minigame Altissia. You can get there by asking the city's oarsman (effectively Altissia's "fast travel" system) to take you to South Listro Park Station.

Totomostro isn't the most in-depth of excursions, but gaining a firm understanding of its mechanics may take a while. Due to its complexity, we won't be going into great detail here, but the number one way to win is to steadily learn which monster matchups to bank on and when.

How to Complete Liege of the Lake

Final fantasy 15 Liege of the Lake

As a final precaution, it's not a bad idea to have Ignis cook the Kupoberry Cheesecake dish if you have the recipe on hand, but unless you're waiting until near the end of the game to complete this quest that won't be an option. Like the Llymlaen Reel, the Kupoberry Cheesecake can't be obtained until you've reached Altissia. It's purchasable at the JM Market.

Armed with all that you need, snagging a Noble Arapaima now comes down to personal skill. Don't be alarmed, though — should you falter, the Noble Arapaima can be challenged again.

Your Fishing Level should be ten, but if you've followed our guide and completed Navyth's sidequests, that should already be the case. If it is, you need only search for a sizable blue circle toward the northwest corner of the fishing spot. (If it isn't, you'll just have to get lucky enough to stumble upon it elsewhere.)

Don't try reeling in the Noble Arapaima when the Tension icon is on screen. Your line's integrity will drop rapidly if you do, even with all this great gear at your disposal. Take care not to tug when it's changing direction, either. Small fry won't give you much grief when this occurs, but small fry this fish is not.

And that's that! If you accidentally leave the fishing spot without completing the quest, you'll technically "fail" it, but you can trigger the whole thing all over again simply by sleeping at the Capitis Haven campsite again. Your reward is 20AP and the Big Blaze Bahamut Lure, which is a perfect pick for many of the game's Royal Vessel deep-sea bounties. You'll also get to see Gladio flex his muscles when he dives into the Vesperpool to fetch the Liege's corpse, and who doesn't want that?
